Part 14

3:00pm the school emptied Patton walking down the street slowly, alone. He knew Virgil and Logan were in detention until 4:30 pm.
Roman got in his car and drove back to his house eager to get home before Remus. Remus was already at their house and sat in his car waiting for Roman. He ducked down when Roman pulled up at the driveway. Roman got out of his car and saw Remuss' car and sighed. He walked up the path to the front door and stopped when his phone buzzed.
Remus: I'm stuck in my car. Help
Roman sighed and went down the path again. When he was not far from the car Remus turned on the engine and drove right at Roman. He hit Roman at 30mph and Roman flew back and hit his car, causing a dent. Romans vision went blurry as he stood up. He ran for the house but Remus hit him again. Remus got out of his car and stood over Roman. He crouched down. "Don't fuck with us again." He said before standing up again and walking to the house. Roman passed out soon after.

4:30pm. Logan and Virgil got up and ran outside. They sighed and walked down the street. Virgil pulled out his phone. No messages. Roman would usually text him by now. No messages from Patton either. Logan didn't have any messages either. They looked at each other worriedly. They walked past Romans' house and saw him on the floor. His head was bleeding slightly. The ran over to him. "Roman?" Virgil said shakily. He held his hand tightly. There was no reply from Roman. "C-call-" Virgil said in tears but Logan was already steps in front of him.
They waited for the ambulance and went with him. "What about your parents?" Logan asked.
"They're on a business trip." Virgil said not looking up. He held Romans hand lightly. The two fell silent.
"Do either of you know how this happened?" The nurse asked connecting Roman to a monitor. "We don't know, we just saw him like that." Virgil said close to tears again. The nurse took Romans hand from Virgil's and put something in him.

Patton ran. He spotted a patch of trees and climbed one crouching down. "Patton~" he heard his chaser yell. Patton slowed his breathing down and hopped to another tree making the least noise at possible. Deceit stood under the tree he was in for a minute before walking off. He jumped to a larger tree and sat down. He saw a small cupboard built into the tree. Curious he opened it and pulled out a sketchpad. He flipped through it and realised it was Virgil's. He looked in the small cupboard and saw a blanket, a pillow, a small stuffed spider toy, a wireless charger, a box of food and a half empty bottle of water. He sighed sadly and out everything back neatly. Patton realised Virgil was no longer living at his house. Patton pulled out his phone and texted Virgil.
Patton: have you been kicked out of your house?
Virgil: what? No!
Patton: I've found your mini treehouse. Please don't lie.
Virgil: I'm sorry, I didn't want to tell anyone.
Patton: you're going to get hypothermia! You can't stay out there.
Virgil: I have a blanket.
Patton: and a stuffed toy.
Virgil: I'm fine Patton, seriously.
Patton: where are you now?
Virgil: on the way to the hospital. Something happened to Roman.
Patton gasped grabbing the attention of Deceit who was under the tree. "Patton!" He yelled. Patton got up and jumped to the next tree. He lost his footing and his hand scraped against the rough tree. He landed on his back and got up running off. He could hear Deceits footsteps behind him getting closer. Patton wasn't a fast runner so he tried to think of a way out of the situation. He dodged trees and jumped over a low wall. He landed him the river. He screamed from the shock. A passer by saw him and helped him out of the river. "Are you ok?" He asked. Patton nodded and looked behind him, Deceit was there and saw Patton with the stranger. "Patton!" He yelled jumping over the wall and going to them. "I've been looking all over for you." He looked up and the stranger. "Sorry if he bothered you. He runs off." The guy nodded and walked off leaving Patton with Deceit. Deceit waiting until the guy was out of earshot before returning his attention back to Patton. "You're not going anywhere." He said and guided Patton to a thick part of the woods.
