February 14
4:30AMI’m doing it today. I am asking her out. It may sound odd, who knows if there’ll still be tomorrow. Carpe Diem! Seize the day! If I won’t find my own voice, no one else will do it for me. I’ve arranged plans for today with the help of Pietro, Wayne, Kaitlyn and the Student Council. Kaitlyn will bring her to the Gymnasium where I’m going to ask her on a date. I’d sing her favorite song entitled ‘Out Of My League’ by Stephen Speaks. As she will enter the area; lights are closed. Then a light will beam upon me and the music will start. Confetti will fall after then that’s the time for it…
As I arrived at school, the Principal called summoned me to his office.
“Dalton, you’re the Class Valedictorian. Prepare a speech for the Graduation Day, next month. You did a great job, lad!” He told me.
“Thank you, Sir!” I said.
So it was show time, I did it before lunch. Kaitlyn and Divine arrived in the Gymnasium, things went as planned. I wore a grey suit and I carried a bouquet of flowers. The music played and then the confetti showered.
It's her hair and her eyes today
That just simply take me away
And the feeling that I'm falling further in love
Makes me shiver but in a good way
All the times I have sat and stared
As she thoughtfully thumbs through her hair
And she purses her lips, bats her eyes and she plays,
With me sitting there slack-jawed and nothing to say
'Cause I love her with all that I am
And my voice shakes along with my hands
Cause she's all that I see and she's all that I need
And I'm out of my league once againIt's a masterful melody when she calls out my name to me
as the world spins around her she laughs,
rolls her eyes and I feel like I'm falling
but it's no surprise'cause I love her with all that I am
and my voice shakes along with my hands
'cause it's frightening to be swimming in this strange sea
but I'd rather be here than on land
yes she's all that I see and she's all that I need
and I'm out of my league once again. It's her hair and her eyes today
That just simply take me away
And the feeling that I'm falling further in love makes me shiver, but in a good way
All the times I have sat and stared
As she thoughtfully thumbs through her hair
As he purses her lips, bats her eyes And she plays with me sitting there slack-jawed and nothing to say'cause I love her with all that I am
and my voice shakes along with my hands
'cause it's frightening to be swimming in this strange sea
but I'd rather be here than on land
yes shes all that I see and shes all that I need
and im out of my league once againI finished the song and I asked her.”Divine Rumenoff, will you be my Valentine?”
“Yes!” She shouted and hugged me.
We headed for the Carpe Diem room, I’ve set three tables and of course the table where Divine and I would be staying was the grandest. Hearts were hanging by the ceiling. Wine bottles and candles were on the table.
“Hail to all of us!” Pietro proposed a toast. “Our fellowship doesn’t end here. It is time for others to find their voices!”
We ended here, all of it. The best year I’ve ever had was with these people.
“Vine, what am I to you?” I asked her.
“I like you but as my best friend. You are one of the few people who can understand me. For that I truly am thankful to you.” She replied and I smiled.
“I am going to read this Pietro. I have finished it.” I announced.
“An Ode To PoetsPoetry is the heartbeat of life;
Each poem develops us from existence to experience.
It is the answer to all forms of strife,
For every single word written
Delivers an unspoken truth by the giver.
It acts as if it is the logic behind literature
A fire driven by the desire of every creature. To make up the pavement on the road less traveled by,
To not just gather roses but make use of them,
To realize that the fault is not in the stars, but in us,
To not be resigned in living a life of quiet desperation.Robert Frost, Robert Herrick, William Shakespeare and Henry David Thoreau,
They are noble men.
They are poets.
They’ve understood that poetry sustains life.Poetry is a noble pursuit.
It is needed to sustain life
Thus it develops us to a greater form of humans
We are slaves to its will
For we merely not write poetry
For it is poetry which writes us.An Ode To Poets,
To honour them for their noble deeds.
An Ode To Poets,
To live by their noble deeds.“Bravo, Dalton!” Pietro shouted and Carpe Diem had a group hug.
We were so happy that time then suddenly multiple gunshots were heard outside. People screamed.
