A Dance To Remember; Dalton

It was the day for Prom, I had no Prom Date. Well, it didn’t have any date last year, all I did was  take photographs of people because I was the Chief Photographer of the School Paper back then. As I entered the complex, I saw Vine shrinking on a corner. She was alone.

“Hey Vine! Where’s Ardent?” I asked her.

“I haven’t seen him yet. I guess he’s not coming.” She replied sadly. “How about you?”

“I went alone. Just like last year. Wayne and Kaitlyn are having a great time. Pietro is definitely busy, he’s the President of the Student Council.” I told her.

Then ‘A Thousand Years’ played, it was a song which was sang by Christina Perri.

“May I have this dance?” I asked her.

“Sure.” She replied.

“You are stunning.” I told her and she smiled.

While the song was playing, we were just staring at each other. It seemed that she liked me again. I just savored that moment. I pulled her hand and we ran.

As the song finished we were kissing. We were smiling at each other after we kissed.

“Thank you.” She whispered.

It was a lovely night, we danced four times plus I finally had my first kiss. I was called upon the stage for the coronation for Prom King & Queen. I stood there with Pietro, Wayne, Vine, Georgie and Kaitlyn. Georgie Wilson, was Pietro’s love interest but due to complications, they didn’t work out. I was the Prom King and Vine was the Prom Queen. We were both entitled to a speech but Vine told me that we should sing together. We sang Hugh Grant’s and Hayley Benett’s ‘Way Back Into Love’.

We sang it for each other. She was my Prom Date after all. The night ended, Vine and I had so much fun. It was our best night. I was so thankful for having such a memory with her. It was a sign for Carpe Diem to finally push through.

It was the greatest night of my life. It was the grandest experience I’ve ever had. As if I we’re in heaven. Thank you Vine! I really love you. I so much love you.
