The Love Triangle [Chapter Two]

The town is small, and it is late evening so most of the shops are closed. I can tell it is a hunting town, due to the types of shops on the main drag. I like there are lots of hunters here, I will have fun with them in the woods when I am in my Wolf form.

I see a small diner that is open, the warm lights a dim yellowy colour. I can see everyone looking out the windows as I pull up – I don’t think they often see cars like mine in an area like this. I hold my head as I climb out the car.

I know that they are not expecting to see me. I am very pretty, young, woman with expensive clothing and regal holding. I also a few tattoos, but I keep those hidden. Not because I am ashamed of them, but when I pose as an investor trying to buy a company I have to look older and professional – otherwise they may guess I am simply conning them.

The bell above the door rings out, announcing my entrance to the entire diner. I can tell they all know each other in this town; and I can also tell they are not used to visitors. The conversation dies down slightly as enter, and all eyes on me.

I take a seat in an empty booth and glance over the menu. I use my heighten senses to listen to the conversation in the room. I find it all very amusing.

“Who’s that woman over there?”

“Fuck, man, you seen that woman in the blue dress? Her ass is out of this world”.

“Did you see her car? That’s a Maserati. Do you think she’s got a rich husband?”

I listen to all the comments, a small smirk on my lips as I pretend to browse over my food choices. I smile as a waitress walks over to me. “Hi” I say, “can I get a beef burger with onion rings and fries. I’ll also have a diet coke”.

She nods, writing the order down on her note pad. The waitress is young, obviously this is a part time work for her when she isn’t in school. Her brown eyes look over me, almost nervously. She studies me for a few seconds, before she finally asks the questions on everyone else’s mind.

“You not from around here” she blurts out. I offer her a smile, first impressions of me need to be good. Much easier to reign havoc then.

“No, I’m just passing through. I’m actually from California” I tell her. The girls eyes widen at my words, I know small town girls always dream of moving away to some place bigger.

“I like your dress” the waitress gushes, touching the edge of my blue outfit. I offer her a kind smile, but I don’t lie.

“An ex-lover of mine got it for me. He knew the CEO of Dolce and Gabanna, so he had it designer specifically for me”. At my words the girl’s mouth falls over. I offer her a smile, and her eyes twinkle at me in adoration. She then scurries off to tell the chef my order.

As I await my food, I get a phone call. It is my twin brother. I sigh heavily, but I answer. “Yes” I answer bluntly. I can imagine my brother frowning.

“Leila, you missed Grandmother’s birthday” he snaps – not betting around the bush any. I roll my eyes, even though he can’t see me. I don’t answer though; my brother doesn’t like confrontation, but I do. And I usually do what I like. I stay silent; knowing it will annoy him some. “Are you going to say anything?” he growls out.

“I was going to say that I might get a new number, so you can’t ring me anymore” I reply flatly, rolling my lips. My brother and I do get on, we just fight a lot – it’s been the same since we were kids. Whereas I am playfully and rebellious, he is serious and obedient. The complete opposite.
