3: Not A Loner

I checked my emails daily, but not any more. The first thing I did this morning was deactivate my yahoo account and then also my hotmail. Now emails couldn't bother me again.

When I went to school, I was certain that I'd be a foolish loner with no one wanting to be my friend, but there was a crowd of 'level two' girls saying stuff in my face. No, not bad stuff. GOOD stuff.

A/N/ I might use the level one, level two and level three phrases more often later on in the story, so just remember :)

"Oh my god, Shannon. I'm so glad you ditched Mia." Woah, I didn't ditch Mia, but if it gained me popularity points, I did.

"Yeah, she was such a snob." I guess she always was level one.

"I love you, Shannon! Please be my friend. I've been wanting to be your friend for ages but I kept out of your way because of Mia; she's scary." Wtf?

"I love your hair, how is it so nice like that? I can't believe Lee turned you down!" How did they know?!

"Yeah, like beautiful like Goldilocks." Someone lashed their hand out to stroke my hair, I mean WTFH? Who does that?

"I'm gonna die mine honey like yours. I mean - ssh! Don't tell the level ones I'm a fake!" Everyone turned to look at a tall girl with dirty-ish blonde hair, falling about twenty centimetres below her waist.

"Julia?!" all the girls chorused.

"What are you then?" a cheeky, short girl asked.

"Light pink. My mum dyed hers when she didn't know she had a baby inside her. It shows at the roots if I forget to dye it."

So I was not a loner.

When it was break, I grabbed the 1000-page book and chucked it into the bin. I had better reasons to live life.

In lesson time, all the level twos stared at me like I was inspiration. I could have a boyfriend already if I gave up on Mia before. The only think I really wanted to do was have someone desperately like me, and ask me out, but I turn them down. Lee made a monster grow inside me; one that hated happy people. But I guess my nice side hadn't completely faded yet... But wait, I was going to start off my enemyship with Mia with a BANG!

[after school]

I crept up to Mia, who was gossiping with a smaller group of designer-clothed, pretty level ones (sitting on a bench) and shouted, "AM I INTERRUPTING YOU?" They all jumped, then brushed their skirts.

"Yes," said Mia coldly. "Loner." Oh my god, Mia was wearing lip gloss and a long pink dress with a silver bow!? I didn't understand.

"Loner, eh?" I asked, pretending to think. "Well, less than you." All of my level two friends appeared behind me, each with their hand on my shoulder.

"Uh?!" argued Mia. "Five level ONE girls, wanting to be my BFFs." Her 'friends' gaped and looked cross.

"Excuse me, but what did you just call us?" questioned Millie, picking up her bag. The rest of the girls stood up; Mia was the only one sitting so she stood up too.

"It means you're hot, and popular, and rich."

"Well, MELISSA," began Laura angrily. "You're a born level three and you know it. The only reason we wanted to be your friend is because Andrea thought you didn't have any." Andrea's tan hands flew to her mouth. "Now go and flirt with your level three lover." All the level ones flipped their long, colourful hair behind their backs and strolled away, gossiping even more. Only Andrea looked back and winked at me.

All of my friends giggled and chatted, laughing at the posh girls' faces! There were so funny! Who knew that pretty girls hate being called hot?! Then suddenly, Julia suggested a good idea. "Let's prank them even further! I'm great at pranks, how about the love letter prank?"

"Yeah!" agreed Imogen. "We need to know all of their names for that, though. There were only five, right? Nicole, Gemma, Millie, Laura and Andrea. Now we need to think of five hot boys!" Everyone giggled childishly.

"Wait!" I announced, "not Andrea. Remember, Andrea wanted to be Melissa's friend, right? And she was the only one who turned back. She was trying to help all this time, the babe. Don't you see? She's on our side, secretly."

My friends just groaned. "How do you know? She just winked!" Julia pointed out. I rolled my eyes and nodded, finally agreeing. I was going to regret it. This was going to end badly. BADLY.
