Jungkook and Jimin sat close together in the car, their fingers intertwined as they drove back to the city. The village, with its peaceful days and kind people like Auntie Miran and Uncle Yoon, had become a place of comfort for them. Saying goodbye had been bittersweet, but they knew it was time to return to the city and face whatever awaited them there.
Jungkook glanced at Jimin, noticing the worry etched on his face. "Everything’s going to be alright," he said softly, giving Jimin’s hand a gentle squeeze.
Jimin nodded, though his thoughts were still heavy. "I just... what if Appa throws me out again? What if he’s still mad at me?"
Jungkook tightened his grip on Jimin's hand, his voice full of reassurance. "No matter what happens, we’ll face it together."
Jimin leaned into Jungkook’s shoulder, finding comfort in his words. "Thank You Hyung."
Jungkook kissed the top of Jimin’s head, his voice gentle but firm. "We’ll make it work, Jimin-ah. We’re a family, and nothing’s going to change that."
Jimin's heart swelled with emotion as he listened to Jungkook's comforting words. The fear of seeing his father again was heavy, but knowing that Jungkook was by his side made it bearable. "Hyung... you’ve done so much for me," Jimin whispered, his voice thick with gratitude. "You’ve taken care of me, never let me down, and always been there for me."
Jungkook smiled warmly, his eyes soft as he looked at Jimin. "That’s because I love you, Jimin-ah. You don’t have to face anything alone, ever."
Jimin felt tears prickling at the corners of his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "Hyung, where do you hide your wings? You’re too perfect."
Jungkook chuckled, brushing a stray strand of hair from Jimin’s face. "I know, I’m an angel," he teased, his voice light.
Jimin puffed out his cheeks in mock annoyance, trying to hide his smile. "Hyung, you totally ruined my pick-up line! Now it’s just not as special."
"Okay baby. Try again."
Jimin’s eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned closer to Jungkook. "I think you just stole something from me," he said, his voice playful.
Jungkook raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "My... what did I steal?" he asked, though he suspected it was part of Jimin’s pick-up line.
Jimin giggled, clearly enjoying the moment. "My heart," he said with a grin. "You took it with that smile of yours."
Jungkook’s face softened, his heart melting at Jimin’s sweet words. "Ah, so that’s what I stole," he said, pulling Jimin close. "Omg, my cutie. You're so cheesy."
Jimin snuggled closer, satisfied with his playful victory. "I did it! I will be just like you!"
Jungkook’s eyes sparkled with affection as he looked at Jimin. Jungkook smiled, appreciating how Jimin's mood had lightened. He played along with the lightheartedness.
"Guess what I'm wearing?" Jungkook asked.
"Your favorite hoodie?"
Jimin answered after seeing Jungkook wearing a black oversize hoodie, his favorite.
"No baby. I'm wearing the smile you gave me"
Jungkook and Jimin shared a tender moment, their smiles and playful banter easing some of the tension. They knew what awaited them after their four-hour journey: facing Mr. Kim, Jimin’s stepfather.
As they approached the city and neared Mr. Kim’s home, the light-hearted atmosphere began to shift back to a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Jungkook held Jimin’s hand firmly, offering silent support.
