Maurice has been blowing up Noah's phone non stop for the past week. Noah knew he owed the record label one more album to satisfy the terms of his contract but he was in a place where he felt like he had nothing to write about. He knew he couldn't ignore Maurice forever so, he prepared himself for the bullshit that was about to come on the other end of the phone.

"What's up?" Noah answered in a nonchalant tone.

"What's up? So, you finally decided to answer the damn phone? Noah, you need to get yo ass in the studio. So Sick was the last song that garnered world wide success. These lil singles are cool but we need a complete body of work from you."

"Man, I'm doing the best I can. You know I'm going through hell with Star and this whole custody battle. I'm trying. I just need you to fall back some."

Maurice wasn't the least bit concerned about Noah or what he was dealing with personally. Noah was messing up Maurice's money and that was one of two things he didn't play about. Whether Maurice wanted to admit it or not, he has been holding a grudge ever since Noah began dating his ex-wife, Megan. Their relationship was short lived but in Maurice's eyes, it was the ultimate disrespect.

"Am I suppose to feel sorry for you? You knew how Star was from the beginning  and your dumb ass still hit that raw. As far as I'm concerned, you deserve everything that's happening to you." With that said Maurice ended the call. He still couldn't believe Noah got Star pregnant.

"I can't stand his black ass." Noah said barely above a whisper. A shiny black Benz caught his eye. It could only be one person. The car stopped in front of his mailbox. The windows rolled down slowly.

"Ms. Crane." He said with a smile.

  "Mr. Brooks."

"Look at you stuntin' in the Benz and blasting your own song."

Alex has been riding the wave of her single, "Shotgun." The song has been doing well on the charts and it's her first major solo release.

  "It's only right."

"What are you doing here?" Not that Alex needed a reason or an invitation to see Noah. He just wasn't expecting her.

  "I came to kidnap you."

  "What?"

Alex let out a deep sigh, "Noah, get in the car."

"Yes ma'am." He waited until they made it out of his subdivision before he asked, "Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise." Alex said with a slick grin.

"You know I don't like surprises."

"I know but you're going to love this one. I promise. Get comfortable and put this on." She tossed him a blind fold.

Noah looked at Alex as if she lost her mind. "I'm not putting this on."

"Don't be difficult. Put it on. Please. I'm asking nicely."

"I'll put it on. Even though you didn't ask at all."

Alex had Noah wrapped around her finger. She was aware of the fact. Alex tried to be careful with her interactions with Noah because not so long ago they were more than friends. She was completely comfortable with him, making it a challenge at times not to reminisce of their time together. Her relationship with Derek was in shambles. After Ms. Ruby died, Derek wasn't the same. Alex tried everything to help but Derek resisted her advances. He left town about two months ago. He said he needed to clear his head. He's contacted Alex three times since he left. She hadn't told anyone what she was dealing with. Alex wanted to confide in Noah but she didn't want him to think that he was only needed when things weren't smooth with her and Derek. Especially how things played out in the past.
