Alex looked at Derek in disbelief. "You put a tracker on my phone? Why would you do that?"
Derek never intended for Alex to find out and he damn sure didn't intend to be the person to tell her. Now that the truth was revealed, he tried to flip the script. "I think I was well within my rights."
"Derek, you don't have the right to do a damn thing. I know what happened in the past between me and Noah wasn't right. I've apologized so many times and I'm tired of you holding that over my head."
Alex understood the way her and Noah started was wrong. She's never denied the truth but she didn't regret her time with him.
"I lost my grandmother. Both of my parents are gone. I needed you to be there for me."
"Derek, I tried. I guess it wasn't enough. So, don't stand in here and act like I gave you my ass to kiss when Ms. Ruby died. The reality is, you didn't want me to be there for you. You made that clear when you left."
"So, what now?" Derek asked with raised hands.
"I don't know. All I know is, I don't want to deal with this right now. I'm getting out of here." Alex placed her hand on the door knob.
"Will you be coming back here tonight or will you be at Noah's again?"
"Go to hell, Derek."
Alex hated the way Ms. Ruby lost her life. Everyone who knew her was affected by her death. For an old woman to be gunned down in her own home shook the entire community. Even with everything going on, Alex wasn't going to allow Derek to project his insecurities or grief on her. For too long she allowed people to walk over here or down play who she was but Alexandra Crane was on another level. She refused to take shit from anyone.
Star was still mad as hell after finding out about Noah and Alex. She sat in her car for a while after arriving home. She attempted to calm herself down but it didn't work. Star slammed the door so hard she startled Simone and woke up Davis. He started screaming from the top of his lungs. Simone jumped up and went to him.
"Damn, Star. I literally just put him down."
"I don't care about that right now Simone."
"What crawled up yo ass?" Simone couldn't wait for Angel to come back from visiting his father. Being at Star's was causing her to have resentment towards her even the more for wanting to put Davis up for adoption. Star didn't want to answer Simone's question. It seemed like Simone was always on Alex's side but Star had to get her frustrations out.
"Alex and Noah are recording a joint album."
"So, why do you care?" It made perfect sense in Simone's mind for the two to do music together.
"Why do I care? What about my career, hu? I had one of the biggest songs on Midtown and now I'm sitting on the sideline doing nothing."
Simone was tired of hearing Star blame everyone else for her career being at a stand still. "That's your fault. You got hot off a dis track. Did you believe that, There For You had staying power like, So Sick? That song touched a lot of people. The way I see it, if you were more concerned about your career and not clocking every move of Noah and Alex's, then maybe you wouldn't be on the sideline. Drops mic."
Star wanted to slap Simone but she knew there was truth to what she said.
Studio G was sacred to Noah. It was the studio where he and Alex recorded, So Sick. What started out as a demo track ended up being one of biggest records of their career. The song also earned them both an ASA award. He sat there with his eyes closed. Then inspiration hit. He grabbed his pen and began writing.
