"See? I told you everything was gonna be okay." James was filled with relief as the two of them watched the officer pull away. She was right, all the officer wanted to do was see if they were okay.

That meant that James had panicked and outed himself for nothing. He couldn't leave her in the dark, he felt she'd deserved better than that.

But he couldn't tell her just yet, he wanted to but he couldn't force the words. Frankly he didn't want to force it, and that's why he decided to wait. They sat there for a moment, in comfortable silence. She wanted to say more but she decided against it. She thought back to how things were before the officer had arrived- and felt her cheeks heat up as she though about the actions they'd committed together. James made her feels things Pete had never been able to conjure.

She knew it was because she could feel safe with James, and it made things easier. He was so tender and sweet, and she thought it was hot. He didn't even know her that well and yet she knew he cared about her. She cared for him too, feeling protective over him even though she'd only known him a short while.

She realized she never wanted to leave James' side, but she wasn't going to tell him that. In a perfect world she'd tell him and it wouldn't be a problem but she'd been known for falling too fast and being bitten in the ass because of love. She wasn't going to make that mistake again. She wanted James and she was gonna be patient with him. She was lost in thought but his voice pulled her out of the recesses of her mind.

"Would you like to go ?" He finally looked over at her and she felt her stomach churn as her insides raised in temperature. She was still flustered from what they did before and she didn't want to move. She wanted to be on him again, she liked being close to him. Yet she still agreed to leave.

"Yeah, sure." That wasn't what she wanted to say, but she was too shy to tell him that she wanted to make out with him again. With that she looked towards the floor, and she could still feel his gaze on her. She wondered as to what he could be thinking when he didn't look away.

His actions spoke loudly as he leaned forward and placed his lips ever so gently on hers once more. She didn't know how long it lasted but she knew it didn't last long enough.

James pulled away and put the car in drive. She watched him as they drove away, she was about to tell him she thought he was beautiful but he spoke first.

"Look, Morgan- I don't know how to tell you this but I did something bad." This confused her, how could James ever do anything bad? That didn't seem right. She knew he needed to be eased into the matter though.

"It's okay James, I'm not gonna judge you for anything you've done and it won't change how I see you." She knew that's what she'd want to hear if she was in James' place.

This seemed to calm him down a little bit and she was relieved, she didn't want him to stress over the subject.

"I was with an old friend of mine when it happened, her name was Alyssa. We ran away when we were younger and we accidentally hid in a serial murderers house and he tried to hurt her when he came home, so I killed him." Out of all of the things she had expected James to say that was not one of them.

Maybe he shoplifted or got caught outside after curfew- not murder. Yet- it still didn't change how she felt about him, not for the worst at least. If anything when she looked at him now she couldn't help but see him as her knight in shining armor.

"I don't think that's a bad thing James, it sounds like you were just trying to do the right thing, and that's a good thing." She liked the way he smiled at her when she said that, he had such a lovely smile. It was a little goofy, like him. She thought he was great.

"Thank you, that means a lot to me Morgan." There it was again, hearing him say her name jus my sent her into a frenzy. It was then that she realized just how far apart they were sitting. She wanted to ask if she could move closer but decided not to change the subject.

"I'm glad to hear that." She returned his smile, and again pondered the possibility of asking him if she could move closer.

She looked over at him and spoke before she'd fully come to a decision on impulse.

"Hey, James?" She cocked her head to the side while she awaited his response.

"Hey Morgan." He glanced at her as she let a giggle escape her. She couldn't help it, he was so cute and goofy.

"Is it okay with you if I lay on you?" His face answered his question before his words did. She loved the way his face lit up when she asked him. She moved as soon as she saw the nod of his head.

Within in instant her head was on his shoulder and she was content. He couldn't help but enjoy his scent as she closed her eyes, he smelled so good. It was a scent that she could only compare to the middle of a warm spring afternoon, when all the flowers were in bloom.

She tried to drift off to sleep, but every time the car jerked she almost fell off his shoulder. After a short period of suffering she decided she wanted to ask him if she could move, but she didn't know how. It didn't seem she'd need to know as he seemed to have read her mind.

"Are you comfortable?" What a sweetheart- now was her opportunity.

"No, is it alright with you if I move?" She lifted her head and he turned his eyes away from the road for just a moment.

"Of course it is." The statement was small but the impact on her surmounted the question. For him to be so open and sweet was something that made her insides melt.

She shifted her posture and laid down with her head in his lap, finally comfortable. She was glad that James was as comfortable with her as she was with him, she liked being in his space.

Pete didn't like to be close like this, in fact he'd called her annoying many times for asking. It made her feel small and stupid. Not James though, James made her feel like she mattered. After all, James mattered a lot to her.

She thought about how much better her life had become in less than a day as she began to drift off to sleep. The two of them were happy with the feeling of being close to the other. James looked down at the girl to admire her beauty for a moment. He couldn't tell if she was actually asleep or not but she was still beautiful either way. He noticed how peaceful she looked, she was the human embodiment of a baby kitten or a little puppy.

He drove for a while, and as he did she shifted in her sleep. This wasn't necessarily a problem for James but he did notice she was nearing the danger zone as they drove over potholes. He didn't want to embarrass himself but he also didn't want to wake her up. He continued to drive, not without glancing down at her to make sure she hadn't shifted too much, and they were doing alright until he drove over a set of train tracks.

Just as she grazed him exactly where he'd been hoping she wouldn't out of respect for the sleeping girl she awoke and jumped from her place, unaware of what she'd done while she was asleep.

James felt his body react to the friction and he felt his cheeks grow red. He decided to distract the two of them from the incident and decided to speak up.

"We can stop somewhere if you'd like so you can get some proper rest." He kept his eyes towards the road, afraid that she'd be able to him out if he met her gaze.

"I'm fine with that." He was glad, he wanted to sleep too. He knew they'd find one in a matter of no time as he'd seen a few along the road in the town they were currently in.

She laid back down in a safe position and James found them a quaint little bed and breakfast.

"Morgan." He shook her awake gently. "We're here." He wanted to call her an angel but he decided against it. He didn't want to come off too strongly.

"I'm gonna go get us a room, you can stay here."

And with that he was on his way.
