Chapter 9.

I walked into Cat's house and immediately ran up the stairs. I opened the door to my room and saw Lexi laying on my bed in her pajamas, reading the latest edition of Forbes magazine. "Get up! Get dressed! We're going out." I ordered her.

          Lexi immediately furrowed her eyebrows at me. "What's gotten into you?" She asked as she put the magazine down and turned to face me, giving me her full attention.

          "Long story. I'll tell you after I get a drink." I said as I plugged in my curling iron.

          "Don't you think we've had a little too much to drink in the last few days." Lexi said and twitched her eye. "And besides I thought you stopped day drinking?" She asked with a look of concern on her face.

          "Yeah!" I said. "But I kissed Beck in detection and now I need a drink." I mumbled quickly as I started to curl my hair.

Watching her reflection in the mirror, I noticed how fast Lexi's jaw dropped to the ground when she heard what I had said. "You what?" She asked in disbelief.

"I'm not going to say it again. You heard me the first time so can you please just get dressed so we can go?" I begged.

"Oh definitely!" Lexi said and immediately jumped out of the bed.

I turned around when I saw Lexi walk over to her suitcase of clothes. "You did shower right?" I asked.

Lexi stopped digging in her bag for a moment and turned to look at me. "Duh." She said and rolled her eyes at me.

An Hour Later.

Lexi and I were now sitting at the bar. A cute bartender approached us. He had the most adorable blue eyes. "What can I get you lovely ladies?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"Bourbon for me." I said and the bartender gave me a strange but judgmental look.

"Whiskey so early in the day." He said.

"I'm feeling a little over the top today." I smirked.

The cute bartender poured me a glass of bourbon and then turned to Lexi to take her order but Lexi didn't want anything. I guess she wanted to be one hundred percent sober to hear my story. The bartender left after speaking to us for a bit. We had learned that his name is actually Jacob and he's been working here for 3 years now. He's also a part time Sociology major.

Wouldn't have guessed that one. Although we do live in a world where parents hate their children so I guess expecting the unexpected is what this world is all about.

I explained to Lexi everything that happened between Beck and I during detention. I also told her about how nice he has been to me since I met him, about all the conversations we've had together and about how I might even like him.

"I know it's a little too soon to fall in love with someone..." I said and paused for a short while, "but Beck is something else. He is special." I said and smiled at the thought of Beck. "When I'm with him, I feel like I can just be myself. And I'm not talking about me now, I'm talking about the old Isabella Valentine. He makes me wanna be her again. And despite everything I've done since coming here, he still kissed me." I said.

Lexi just say there in silence, observing my every move. "You love him, don't you?" She asked after a few short seconds.

I thought long and hard about my answer as I stared down at my drink. My mind wandered around a bit, thinking about every moment, every conversation I ever had with Beck.

I was snapped out of my daze when I heard the sound of fingers clicking right in front of me. "Earth to Bella." Lexi said.

"All I'm saying is that Bade sounds like a means to an end.." I said and raised an eyebrow at Lexi, "whereas Becella sounds like an eternity." I said and smiled.

"Well here comes your eternity." Said Lexi, looking in the direction of the bar entrance.

I turned around and saw Beck walk in with Andre. At first I thought to myself, what was Beck doing at a bar but then I got my answer when I saw him and Andre walk towards the pool table. Well that makes perfect sense.

I heard a chair move and immediately turned to Lexi, just to see her standing up. "What you doing?" I asked her.

"I'm going to say hi. Come on." She said and smiled.

"No, Lex!" I said but before I could say anything else, Lexi was already gone.

Andre spotted her when she was nearly near them. He smiled at the site of her. It's either he's been friendly or he has a small crush on her. Lexi hugged Andre and then Beck. A small conversation broke out between the three of them and before I knew it, Lexi was now pointing right at me. I started to panic as they all started looking at me. I was having an mini heart attack until Beck smiled at me. He then waved at me, I thought about it for a second before smiling and waving back.
