Dom's POV:

After the race I followed Letty a short distance down the street near the bridge. We both pulled up and sat for a moment.

"I'll get out the car this time as well." Carmen said through a shaky breath. We both got out and so did Letty.

"You're still upshifting early." I said to her, with a smirk.

"I do that so you brake." She said, as I closed my car door.

"You lose traction and the back ends kick out." Carmen said laughing slightly at her sister.

Letty looked up at Carmen and I swore I seen her eyes light up for a split second, so quick you could've easily missed it. "I noticed" she said. Then she looked back over to me.

"Look just because you know how I ride, doesn't mean you know me."

"You know what they say where I'm from?-"

"-Show me how you drive, I'll show you who you are." Carmen finished for me.

I walked past her as she was leaning against her car. "V8. You never could resist American muscle." She looked up at me. I just wanted to grab and kiss her, but I had to keep my composure.

"Nice scar." She then looked down and pushed her hair back, the part that was covering her left ear.

"You never could keep yourself out of trouble. That's why we were always in fights as kids." Carmen said, coming closer to the both of us.

"What else do you know about me?" Letty asked.

"About you?" I asked. I strolled in front of her. "Everything."

"Like this scar." I lifted her wrist, revealing a scar on her wrist.

"You got that the first night we met. You were 15. First street race. Some kid trying to show off lost control of his car, wiped out right next to you. You're lucky you didn't lose your arm."

She chuckled before she said, "And let me guess, you saved me." She slowly took her wrist from my grasp.
Carmen chuckled softly, "No. He was the kid trying to show off."

She looked away. "And here.." I began to say as I lift her hair off her right shoulder. "..Boyle Heights. You were fleeing with my little sister, Mia, and got stuck in the corner. And you thought it was a good idea to ride your Torino Cobra through a retaining wall."

Letty chuckled again, "Alright how about this one?" She asked, she pulled her shorts down a tad bit and raised her top slightly, to reveal the scar she was referring to.

I grabbed her hip, slowly stroking the scar. "This was the last time we were together." This is when she finally looked me in my eyes, all I felt was love and euphoria.

"In the DR. You wanted to go for a night swim. You cut yourself on the reef. I followed you. I even got the scar to match." I lifted my shirt slightly, showing her the love scar.

Letty chuckled again, "Look, I don't know why you're here, but I really think you're over your head."

I grabbed her face softly, causing her to look up at me. "I'm here for you, we're here for you." I said looking back at Carmen.

Letty looked away from me for a moment, before looking back up at me. "That girl you remember, it's not me."

"Not from what I just saw." I told her. "Like it or not, you're still the same girl. I saw it out there. I see it right now."
"I gotta go." She said out of nowhere. She was about to get into her car, but Carmen opened the passenger side and stepped towards her sister.

"Hey" she said. She pulled out the silver cross necklace and placed it in her hands.

"It belongs to you." She took it, looked at it for a brief second, than headed off.

Carmen's POV

I watched my sister drive off, at least I gave her her necklace. I love her siempre y para siempre(always and forever).

I turned back, only to find Owen Shaw stepping out of his car. Shit! I thought.

He looks over to me, than to Dom. "There she goes, leaving you again." He said, closing his door. "Bloody fickle, that letty."

"Hey, watch your fu**ing mouth talking about my sister like that."

"You want bloody? We can do bloody." Dom said, stepping up.

Shaw chuckled, what an evil chuckle. "A street kid, starts out stealing DVD players in East L.A., ends up heisting $100 million in Rio."

"Not bad, huh?" Dom said.

He looked over to me, "A street girl, always in fights, building cars with her sister since 7, moved to Brazil when she found out her sister died, became the queen racer, owns almost $200 million dollars in cars she made from scratch."

"Damn, we must be your idols huh?" I said smartly.

"It's a good story, isn't it." He asked. "Almost inspiring. See, what I couldn't fathom is why he's not relaxing on a beach somewhere with that cute little Brazilian number. Instead, he's working with a two-bit government hack like Hobbs. And then, I realized he has a week spot."

"We all got a weak spot." Dom said.

"You know when I was young, my brother always used to say 'Every man has a code.' Mine. Precision. A team is nothing but pieces you switch until you get a job done. It's efficient." He began walking towards me and Dom.

"It works. But you?" Dom chuckled. "You're loyal to a fault. Your code is about family." He said with a scoff. "And that's great and all, but it makes you predictable. And in our line of work, predictable means vulnerable. And that means I can reach out and break you whenever I want."

"At least when I go, I'll know it's too far."

"Well, at least you have a code." He said then chuckled.

"Most men don't..So, I'm going to give you a chance. Take your crew and walk away. That's the only way you're going to keep your family safe."

"Your brother never told you never threaten a mans family?" Dom asked. "It's a pretty stupid thing to do." I interjected.

"But, I'll make it simple for you. I walk away when she walks away."
