Chapter 5:

Carmen's POV:

"Well then, it appears this inspiring tail has come to an end." Owen said, spit flying out of his mouth.

A laser, obviously used from someone's gun, appeared on Dom and I's chest. I wasn't going to give up.

"If that's the way it has to go." Dom said.

Then a laser dot appeared in the center of his chest.

He chuckled darkly, "Let me guess, Hobbs?"

"The two-but government hack." I said, imitating him from before.

He laughed, then he slowly turned around to walk to his car. Right before he got in, he said, "See ya around Toretto" then looked at me and winked, "You too Ortiz"

"You can bet on it." I said and winked back to him. If he wants to play, you bet my ass I'll play, I don't lose.

Then he drove off.

Hobbs then came the stairs, on his phone. "Riley, Shaw's leaving Battersea, heading southwest. Have Tej track him on his live feed. Go."

Hobbs then walked over to us, was Superman about to give a lecture?

"You know what would have happened if I didn't put that tracker in your car?"

"This one?" Dom said, then we all chuckled.

"Found it under my seat, real classy Hobbs." I said, my laughter dying out.

You know,  this just got me one step closer to Shaw. For what it's worth, Ortiz and Toretto, I hope it gets you closer to what you want, too. This better have been worth it."

Then we get into our cars and drive to the base.

Brian's POV:

I had gotten released from jail in time. Stasiak had come and picked me up to see me off on my flight.

When we pulled up, he looked at me, sympathy laced on his features, which puzzled me.

"This better have been worth it." He said.

"More than you'll even know." I told him.

He undid my handcuffs, I removed my seatbelt to get out of the car.

I turned around and said my goodbyes, boarding the plane to return to my family.

Tej POV:

"Tej, talk to me, what have we got?" Hobbs said as he Riley and Carmen looked to the screen.

"We are able to track Shaw after he left you and Dom." I said motioning to Carmen and Hobbs.

"..but he's a smart guy, so we could only track him so far. He seems to know all the city's blind spots." Then I pointed to an area on the screen.

"See, we lost him somewhere in here, which means he could be anywhere, within the half-a-mile radius." I got up to walk towards Hobbs.

"Maybe if we cross-reference phone records, leases..."

"...No, this has Shaw's name written all over it." Riley said pointing at the screen.

"We've got vantage points, multiple exits, subways, highways and storm drains." Carmen said matter of factly.

Damn she was amazing.

"Bad-ass and brains. Woman you keep that up and the agents find out about it you, I'll be out of a job." Hobbs said.

"All right, let's go snail that sum bitch." 

Then Hobbs and Riley left.

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked turning in my chair to look at Carmen, who was sitting on one of the tables.

She sighs, "nothing-"

"Don't start with the nothing shit, obviously somethings not okay, it's okay not to be okay Carmen." I said to her, getting up from my seat and walking over to her.

She chuckles, then I notice she's on the verge of tears.

"Um, I'm just worried I guess, I don't know what they're doing to my sister, I just want her back, ya know? Plus I don't really feel like I belong in this "family".

"I get you're worried, we're gonna get her though. You are apart of this family, we all are learning each other, it's a learning process, I think you'll fit right in if not make the family even more perfect." I said getting up from my seat and walking closer to her.

We were so close, I kept looking between her lips and her eyes, she has the perfect features. She kept looking at my lips and eyes as well.

Our lips were inches apart, "..um I'm going to go take shower now." She said as she looked to the ground. I cleared my throat and backed up some so she could get off the table.

"I'll let you know if anything's new" I told her. She nodded and began to walk in the direction of the rooms.

"And you can call me C." She said before she went in the elevator.
