Even though you had planned to spend the day in complete isolation, you would be lying is you said Yoongi's company wasn't entertaining. He was grumpy at times, which was pretty on brand considering his age you thought, and he often liked to pretend that he didn't want to be there even though he always ignored your incessant reminders that he could leave whenever he wanted. But he was also kind of funny. And it was nice having someone to walk you through this really weird transition of life, even if he was only doing it because it was his job. Him being there took away that sense of loneliness for a while. It was also awfully funny when the two of you realised your mother had come home and he was still in your bedroom. You had told him he was going to lose his head if your mother caught him in there and he went into a panic for a bit. But what had left you reeling was the fact that when your mother opened the door to check on you, her gaze simply slid over Yoongi, as if he wasn't standing there at all. He had left so quickly after that you didn't even have time to question him about it. You also spent most of the night trying to move various things in your room with your mind, to no avail unfortunately. You hoped it was just because your powers hadn't developed yet and not because you didn't have any. That would have left you beyond pissed.
The following week at school was relatively uneventful as well. You ended up spending your lunch breaks with Yoongi, who groaned and complained that he already spent too much time with you but you caught the small smile on his face when he thought you weren't looking. You had also picked up the habit of tracking your abilities, to see how far along you were in the transition from full human to weird human-vampire amalgamation. Every day you would see how far from your face you could read a book, testing to see if your eyesight had improved at all. At the begging of the week you could read it at arms length, and at the end of the week you could still only read it at arms length. Yoongi said that it was going to take a little longer than a week to see any drastic change but you still weren't happy.
What did seem to be changing at a faster rate was your strength. You'd accidentally broken the lock off a cubicle in the girl's bathroom the other day, which made you panic and leave promptly. You also found out you could throw rocks pretty hard, after Yoongi made comments about your lack of social life. You were grateful for the lack of change in your appetite though. You still grimaced when you saw Yoongi drinking blood and the thought of it still made your stomach turn uncomfortably.
The two of you were hanging out at the moment. It was a Saturday and for once you didn't have work so you wanted to do something. Considering your lack of social circle, the only person you could really hangout with was Yoongi. It felt weird asking him to hangout after school. The time he had come over to your house was different, he was doing his job. But now, asking him to hangout after hours felt... strange. You debated even asking him for a while, but finally decided to just go for it, and made the excuse that you wanted to experiment with your vampiric abilities and having an experienced vampire with you would be better to know what you were doing. To your surprise, it was actually pretty easy convincing him, he had barely even heard your excuse for wanting to hang out when he excepted quite willingly. You had presumed it was going to take a lot more persuasion but he was quick to agree.
You had agreed to meet up at a park nearby, expansive enough that you weren't going to be bothered by anyone else but the two of you had still disappeared into the tree line a bit, just to make sure no unsuspecting eyes saw the two of you doing stuff that was definitely not human.
You remembered the way he laughed when he saw you, gesturing to your pants that were stripy and rainbow. You sketched an eyebrow as if to ask if he wanted to comment further and cop a couple more rocks to the face, and that had him shutting up pretty quickly. He had dressed as much as you expected him to. All black. But he was surprinsgly dressed a lot more stylishly than you had initially thought he would. He certainly didn't look like a fifty-four-year-old man.
