Seeing Jimin again was great. You had only seen him, and all the others two times before, but you had had a lot of fun with them, and it was nice having a friend. And Jimin was awfully good company, despite how terrified he had initially made you. You'd hoped you could hang out with him or any of the others more often, but you didn't have any of their numbers, and in the few days since you'd seen Jimin, things hadn't patched up between you and Yoongi so you couldn't really ask him to help with that.
Regardless, you got on with life, and tried to shove on with everything as best you could, ignoring your lingering mixed emotions about Yoongi and tried to focus and work on your abilities, school and your job. Which, you had just finished with, another late night shift that had your back aching and knees groaning as you frowned out at the long walk ahead. Your mother was working late tonight and couldn't pick you up. You had insisted you were fine but she was unhappy about having you walk home alone in the dark now knowing you were vampirically vulnerable. You assured her you weren't, not bothering to mention the crazy killer on the loose, and told her not to cancel work. Reluctantly, she obliged.
Looking at the dark stretch of road ahead of you, you were beginning to regret that decision. Your new vampiric abilities meant that you could now see quite clearly in the dark, but the prospe t of what could be out there lurking behind corners was scary enough. You hesitated a few moments before getting over yourself and walking right into the black night. If you were never able to get over petty and unnecessary fears then you were never going to get anything done. Didn't make it any less creepy though.
You remembered one of the last times you had been walking home in the dark, and that day Yoongi had been following you, stalking you in the darkness. The thought made you laugh now, but you were scared out of your wits that night. You wouldn't have minded his watchful eye tonight, to keep you from danger, but you were doomed to tough it on your own, so on your own you went, head held high in a false pretense of confidence.
That was until somebody's voice aimed in your direction had you yelping and nearly falling on your ass.
"Hey! Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" The voice was coming from the shadows right beside a pool of light emitted from a window of somebodies apartment just up above. Sitting in the light was a beat up old car, the hood pulled up and little tendrils of smoke flying up from the engine. The unnamed voice stepped out from the dark, looking as alarmed as you felt. "I didn't mean to scare you!" The voice belonged to a woman, maybe around your mother's age. She had dark wine coloured hair, though it was beginning to grey around the temples and roots. Other than that she almost could have fooled you for someone ten years younger. Her body was still lithe and in shape and she wore clothes that hugged her body gracefully. Her apologetic smile aged her down the most though.
"No, don't worry, just walking home in the dark, puts me on edge, you know?" You said, smiling a little even though your heart felt like it was going to pound out of your chest.
"Geez, I know what you mean. My car broke down in the most inconvenient of places and I'm not going to lie to you, I'm terrified and want to get out of here quickly," she gestured back to her car and you quickly understood her situation, "that's why I was calling you, I was wondering if you could help me out?" You looked skeptically at the car.
"Uh, I don't really know anything about the cars, I don't think I'd be very helpful." You didn't even drive cars, your ability to fix one if it had broken down was worse than non-existent.
"Oh no, I only need an extra pairs of hands, I know what I'm doing," she insisted. You looked between her and the car one more time. She did look desperate, and you knew how it felt to be a woman on your own in the pitch black of night. And you had never been able to say no.
