Unlikely Allies (Ninjago Season 11)

Chapter 15: Endless Battle

Grimfax and Kataru continued their battle against Vex and the Blizzard Samurai, but they seemed to be almost completely endless that no matter how hard they fought, more troops would come. The old emperor would swing his axe into an entire force of samurai, but they would just keep coming.

Kataru let out one huge roar and slashed his claws into the Blizzard Samurai and then bit down on one made of ice, letting down a big chomp and turning them into nothing but ice shards. He was beginning to become exhausted, but he would keep fighting. He lunged himself at a small troop and bit and sliced, trying his best not to kill some of the human samurai, after all, they were Grimfax's people.

Grimfax let out another battle cry and swung his axe against a warrior's spear, chopping it in half. Then, he kicked the samurai into another and then slammed his axe into a Blizzard Archer made of ice, taking their crossbow and firing an arrow at another. "Keep fighting, Kataru!!! We must give Lloyd enough time to awaken The Ice Emperor!!!" He yelled and then charged into battle again.

The Formling nodded and then slashed his claws at the army again, and then practically flattened a small troop of samurai by stomping on them. He roared loudly and then continued to battle, but then saw a force surround him, and they had chains in their hands. The Ice Samurai spun their chains like a lasso and then threw them at Kataru, the chains wrapping around his legs. Kataru roared and tried to break them, but they were made of corrupted ice, they were indestructible.

Grimfax swung his axe into the swords of a Blizzard Swordsman, shattering their weapons and then kicking them down onto the ground. He turned and saw Kataru being defeated and he ran over and tried to punch one of the samurai that was holding a chain, but 3 more archers came in and fired their arrows at the old emperor, but Grimfax managed to deflect them by using the blade of his axe.

Vex laughed as he watched the Formling and Grimfax fight for a hope that wouldn't come true. "Guards, finish the traitor off!!!"

The Blizzard Samurai nodded and then lunged at Grimfax, slashing their weapons and covering his pale face in scars and then sending him to the ground.

Kataru roared, but was then sent to the ground when the Samurai pulled on the chains....The Resistance had become defeated.

General Vex smirked. "Lock the animal and the traitor in the dungeon, and then find the stranger in green if The Ice Emperor hasn't already dealt with him..."

Meanwhile, The Ninja had finally infiltrated the Castle of Ice by 'creating a new entrance' since there seemed to be a huge battle going on inside.

"Are we sure that The Ice Emperor is Zane?" Jay asked. "I mean, come on! It's Zane!"

Cole sighed. "I know. I don't wanna believe it either, but if what Nya thinks is true, then Zane might not even remember himself thanks to the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu."

Nya quickly shushed them. "Need I remind you that we're ninja? We're supposed to be quiet!"

Jay and Cole nodded and then continued their path through The Ice Castle, but like the many other visitors, the castle seemed like a freezing maze, until Krag sniffed the air while he was still holding a currently unconscious Kai, then he suddenly growled.

"What is it, Krag?" Cole whispered.

Krag set Kai down and then suddenly ran towards the scent. The Ninja looked at each other and then Jay picked up Kai and they ran after the yeti. But when they saw what he had run too, there was an army of Blizzard Samurai attacking him while holding a down a gray samurai and a brown bear.

"What is Krag doing?!" Jay cried out as he dropped Kai and threw on his hood, along with taking out his manriki gusari, powering it with lightning. Cole and Nya also threw on their hoods and took out their weapons and ran into battle with Jay. 

Cole slammed his hammer into the face of a Blizzard Samurai and then swung it against another, sending them sailing through the air. He then activated his Earth Punch ability and shattered a troop of Ice Swordsman.

Nya stabbed one of the Blizzard Archers with her spear and then lifted them in the air and slammed them in the ground before ripping the spear out and jabbing the bottom of it into a human Samurai's chest, then side kicking them into the wall. 

Jay spun his manriki gusari at a Blizzard Samurai, and the blade of his spinning weapon slashed away at the Samurai, sending them to their knees, giving Jay a chance to kick them down. After that, he shot out a beam of lightning at the Samurai who were holding down the gray samurai.

Krag roared loudly and basically obliterated the ones who were holding down the bear, smashing ones made of ice and tossing ones made of pale and cold flesh. And before he knew it, there was only one more Samurai left.

"No...No, it can't be!" Vex cried out, backing up. "You should've been destroyed by the Ice Dragon!"

Cole chuckled and then put away his hammer, his Earth Punch still active. "Well, I got news for ya, pal. We're pretty much impossible to kill." He said before walking up to Vex and slamming his fist in his face, sending him flying and knocking him unconscious when he landed onto the floor.

Krag quickly broke the chains of ice that were holding the bear, who suddenly transformed back into a human. 

Kataru smiled. "Thank you. We could not have defeated those Samurai on our own."

"Indeed. We appreciate it, strangers." Grimfax said, putting away his axe.

The Ninja looked at Kataru, wondering how he was able to shape shift, and then looked at Grimfax. "Ok, why are you suddenly acting like you're buddies with us now? You just tried to kill us weeks ago!" Cole cried.

"Or months...It felt like months. I'm sorry, time is extremely different here." Jay commented.

Grimfax sighed. "I only attacked you with my army because The Ice Emperor commanded me to do so, for if I did not, my people and I would surely perish. I am the original emperor and protector of the Never Realm, but The Ice Emperor came one day and overthrew me with his power."

Nya gulped. "He...wasn't holding a staff with a blade on it by any chance, was he?" She asked, hoping that her theories about Zane being The Ice Emperor were wrong.

Grimfax nodded. "He was. And according to your leader, Lloyd. Your friend is The Ice Emperor, but corrupted by his staff."

"Along with the manipulation of General Vex, the Samurai you knocked out." Kataru added. "And if I may be honest, I wanted to be the one who would do that."

"Wait, you know Lloyd?" Jay asked. 

"He is trying to awaken The Ice Emperor as we speak, we were trying to hold off the Ice Samurai to give him enough time." Kataru replied.

Before The Ninja could say anything back, there was a groan and they all turned around to see Kai, holding his head. "Ugh, what happened?"

"Long story short, we gotta get to Lloyd! With the scroll, Zane is basically all powerful and could probably kill him if we don't help him snap Zane out of it!!" Cole exclaimed.

Kataru and Grimfax looked at each other and then back at The Ninja. "We will help you."

"Alright. We could use all the help we can get."
