Unlikely Allies (Ninjago Season 11)

Chapter 16: Awakening

The Ninja and The Resistance quickly dashed towards The Throne Room's entrance, but found it to be already kicked down, that must've been Lloyd's doing. They walked in and looked around for Lloyd and The Ice Emperor (AKA Zane), but then gasped when they saw what was in front of the Ice Emperor's throne...

There were two people who were frozen in ice. One of them was wearing a green ninja suit and wielding a golden katana, and their once green eyes had turned into a chilling blue. The other was in white and red and had some kind of wolf hat on their head, along with a dagger in their hand.

Finally, The Ice Emperor stood between them, breathing heavily. His helmet seemed to be have been kicked off, revealing his true face but with his samurai mask still on...Somehow, it just reminded The Ninja that The Ice Emperor was just a samurai version of their friend.

Kataru looked at the frozen one in white and red and then gasped. "No...NO!!" He cried. 

The Ice Emperor turned to them and then growled. "More rebels..."

The Ninja couldn't believe their own eyes and ears. Not only had Zane's voice completely changed, but he didn't even remember them. He looked like he wanted to make them end up like Lloyd and the mysterious person Kataru knew. How were they supposed to fight a friend? A friend who didn't know what he was doing?

Krag got one good look at The Ice Emperor and then was hit with a flashback...A memory of The Ice Emperor commanding his Ice Samurai to murder his family. The yeti growled and then roared at The Emperor, quickly lunging at him.

"KRAG, WAIT!!!" Cole cried, but Krag did not listen. The yeti swung his arm at The Ice Emperor, but he just countered his attack by swinging his specter against his arm and then jumping into the air and side kicking him in the jaw and then slamming his scepter down onto his head, sending the rather large yeti to his knees. The Ice Emperor laughed and then prepared to freeze Krag.

But then, Kataru and Cole came running in, but each one with different goals. Kataru's was to tear the emperor apart for what happened to his sister, who was the one frozen. Cole's was to save his friend from his own ally. Cole quickly swung his hammer against The Ice Emperor's scepter, trying to knock it out of his hands, but the scepter did not go flying because it was frozen to Zane's hand.

The Ice Emperor growled and quickly swung his scepter against Cole's hammer over and over again before punching him away and then blocking an attack from Kataru, who transformed into his bear form. Kataru felt the scepter go to his neck, but he tried to bite and roar at The Emperor before being pushed away and then swatted away like a fly, and then frozen like his sister, Akita.

Cole grunted and swung his hammer again, but The Ice Emperor dodged the attack and then jabbed the tip of his scepter into Cole's stomach and then slammed the bottom of it into Cole's face. Finally, he grabbed The Master of Earth by the neck and tossed him aside.

"Zane, don't do this!!!" Jay cried out, sounding helpless.

The Ice Emperor roared at the name of Zane. How many times must he be called that? "MY NAME IS NOT ZANE!!!!" He screamed and tried to fire a blast of ice at him, but Krag punched The Ice Emperor onto the steps of his throne. The Emperor groaned and quickly got up and then suddenly froze Krag before the yeti could even jump up and attack him.

The Ninja and Grimfax finally had enough and ran into battle, Nya threw her spear at The Ice Emperor's scepter, but he deflected the attack and fired an ice blast at her while she was charging at him.

Jay quickly got in the way and fired a blast of lightning to counter the ice attack, but he was beginning to become pushed away by the attack. "Go! Get that thing out of his hands!!!" Jay muttered, trying to push away the blast.
