Namjoon wasn't really able to sleep. His thoughts were constantly going to possible results of his actions. He was also constantly practising what to say in front of his father. He got up early in the morning and went straight to the bathroom to get fresh and look presentable. When he arrived at breakfast, Yoongi and Hoseok were already sitting there, eating breakfast. He wished them morning and silently finished his breakfast. The other two really didn't know what to say or how to decrease his anxiety so they kept quiet.

He was standing in front of his own office. But for some reason, it looked foreign. He didn't want to go in. He sighed heavily and stood there for a few more minutes. It was time to put on the mask that everyone wanted him to be. He straightened his coat and walked with a poker face. He didn't greet anyone, but he wasn't even rude to anyone like before. He walked straight to his father's office avoiding all the glances he was getting.

Once there he debated if this was a good idea or not. But now there was no turning back. "Should I open it for you?" Yoongi said from behind him. He had noticed the younger's every move from the morning and was convinced that Namjoon was more nervous. He was shivering. Namjoon shook his head and opened the door.

"Oh, Namjoon. How are you?" His father with an obviously fake smile.

"I'm fine dad."

His father nodded, "So why did you want to meet me?"

Namjoon fidgeted with his hands, "Umm. I wanted to inform you that I would be going to tomorrow's party..." he was finding every ounce of courage to speak the next words. He had practised so many times, but this was something else. His palms were sweating and his legs were shaking. "... as Seokjin-shi's secretary."

His father stood up from his chair and walked a few steps towards him.

Slap!

The voice resonated through the room. It was becoming hard for Namjoon to hold his tears back. Yoongi took a few steps forward but Namjoon signalled him to not. He stood there hand balled in a fist and jaw clench. "This slap is for you to remember that you don't make your own decisions. You should have asked Namjoon. Always disappointing me. You can go as a secretary. But not because you want to but because I decide it for you. You better win his trust. Understood?" Namjoon nodded.

His father went back to the table and sat down again. "What about the work I gave you Namjoon?"

Namjoon was still looking at the floor, "I'll need some time. I was never left alone for more than half an hour and I need at least two hours for this work."

His father scoffed, "Useless. Fine. But I need results." Namjoon nodded. "You can leave now."

Namjoon left as soon as those words left his father's mouth. He walked straight to the car and locked himself in it. Yoongi was behind him and wanted to calm the younger but he knew now was not the time. Yoongi went to the driver's seat, "Where to?" Namjoon had still not looked up, "The Rains."

Jin was feeling anxious for Namjoon. He had known his father for a while and according to him Namjoon's father was "an epitome of assholes!" He had left home quite late which really amazed Jimin when he reached the cafe late. But Jimin didn't ask questions and just served his usual. As the cafe was really near to his building, he decided he would walk and enjoy the cold weather. When he reached the building. He saw a car parked in the parking lot and Yoongi scolding Namjoon. He frowned and went near them.

"... have let me help, Namjoon. Look what he did to you. I would have kicked his ass." Yoongi was angry. And Jin knew that in the weeks he had been training Yoongi, he could not control his anger. He walked straight to them.

Namjoon was looking at the floor, "I know what you would have done. That's why I stopped you. I don't want you to risk your job because of me."

Yoongi was about to say something but was cut off by Jin, "What happened." Namjoon's eyes widen. He knew this voice clearly and now he was more determinant that he would not raise his head. He was on the verge of crying and didn't want Jin to see him crying. Yoongi told everything that happened minus the "pendrive talk".

Jin was shocked. He looked at Namjoon who was still looking down. He took Namjoon's hand. And dragged him through the building to his office. He locked the door behind him telling Yoongi to call Jimin to office. Jin led Namjoon to the couch. He sat beside him and lifted the younger's face with his forefinger. Namjoon looked at Jin with glassy eyes. A tear finally fell from his eyes. Jin was so angry when he saw Namjoon's face. There was dried out blood on the side of his lips and his cheek was swollen badly. He felt anger radiating from his veins.

Namjoon immediately looked down again, "I'm so- I'm sorry. I'm so pathetic. Can't make my father happy, can't fight against him." He hiccuped and let out a choked sob, "Started crying from just a slap."

Jin's expressions softened. He knew now was not the time to fight Namjoon's father. He immediately hugged the younger and started stroking his hair. Namjoon cried harder as he pressed more in Jin's chest. "Shh... It's okay. You are not pathetic, baby. You are so brave. You went to tell him what you wanted. You endured the pain. You also cared for Yoongi's job. You are the bravest baby." Jin kept saying sweet nothings to Namjoon until he finally calmed down.

Jin smiled at him and kissed his head, "Namjoon?" Namjoon hummed in response, "Look at me, baby." Jin loosened his embrace but didn't let Namjoon go, "Are you okay, darling?" Namjoon blushed at the nickname but still nodded and gave a small smile. "Good." Jin cupped his cheeks in his hands and brushed his thumb over the swollen cheek. Namjoon winced a little and still smiled.

There was a faint knock on the door. As Jin gave permission, Jimin and Yoongi came in, "Here's the first aid kit you asked for." Jimin handed it to Jin. Jin thanked him. Yoongi saw Namjoon's face for the first time after the slap. He was angry again.

Jimin could feel the dark energy radiating from Yoongi. He took Yoongi's hand in his own, "Yoongi please, calm down."

Yoongi closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down, "You should have let me help you."

Namjoon felt small under the elder's glare. But he still mastered the courage to speak, "I told you, I didn't want to risk your job."

Yoongi rolled his eyes, "My job is to protect you." Namjoon flinched at the sudden rise in the voice. Jin glared at Yoongi. Yoongi was still furious.

Namjoon looked up at Yoongi, "Hyung, if he fired you, what would you do? You haven't got the right education for a decent job, thanks to my father. I know you make genius music but no one would hire you due to your lack of knowledge. And even if I provide for your living, I know how uncomfortable that would be for you."

Yoongi softened immediately and hugged Namjoon. Namjoon snuggled in his stomach, "I'm sorry Joon-ah. You had to go through this alone. But I promise, from now onwards, you won't be alone." Jimin smiled at the two male and whispered something to Yoongi. Yoongi nodded and left Jin and Namjoon alone in the office.

Jin opened the first aid kit and took care of the injuries and smiled softly to Namjoon. Once he was sure that Namjoon was okay, he pulled Namjoon on his lap with Namjoon yelping a little. He put his hands on Namjoon's back, "My brave baby deserves a reward doesn't he?"

Namjoon snickered, "I am not an actual baby, hyung."

"You'll always be a baby for me." Jin acted like he was thinking, "Hmm. So what should I give you?" Namjoon first hesitated but cupped Jin's face in his hands and connected their lips taking Jin by surprise. Jin kissed back. He licked Namjoon's lower lip to enter his mouth but Namjoon, feeling brave today denied. Jin frowned in the kiss and slid his hands to Namjoon's hips and pulled closer. As Namjoon moaned he slipped his tongue in Namjoon's mouth. Namjoon sighed happily in the kiss.
