"China Green?" Ms. Barker called out. "This young lady needs you for yearbook"

I look over at the door to see Soph standing with a camera in her hands and a smile on her face.

"Oh my god" I say out loud.

I quickly shoot Brandon a text before exiting the class.

Like right now.

I pull Sophia into the janitors closet.

"You know goddamn well you aren't in yearbook" I say.

"Yeah but Macee is so I stole her camera" She says.

"Who's Macee?" I ask her.

"Doesn't matter. What matters is what happened at that party" She says.

Brandon stumbles into the closet. He looks at me then at Soph.

"Yeah no" He walks out.

"Brandon!" I yell. "Get your ass back in here"

"Whyyy" He whines entering the closet and shutting the door behind him.

"Because you're the one who brought it up so now you have to tell her" I say.

"Why do I have to-"

"I don't care who tells-"

"Just tell her-"

We all start bickering over each other.

"ZION AND CHINA KISSED AT THE PARTY" Brandon yells causing us all to shut up.

"kissed?" She says. "you kissed him? and you didn't tell me?"

"I gotta get back to class" Brandon says fleeing from the closet.

"We didn't eve-"

"You're supposed to be my best friend. You're supposed to tell me everything" She says.

"Look I'm sorry, I didn't tell you. Brandon was mad at me, and you HATE zion and I just- I couldn't stand having you mad at me" I say. "and we didn't even kiss! Brandon walked in, and stopped us before we could"

"Do you have feelings for him?" She asks.

"No! Never."

"Is there anything, and I mean anything, anything at all, going on between you two?"

"No" I say.

"So this morning.. he really just needed a ride to school?"

"Yes" I say letting out a deep breath.

We stand there staring at each other in silence for a minute.

"I'm sorry, I overreacted China." She says falling in my arms.

"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you sooner" I say hugging her.

"Just promise to tell me, next time?" She says looking at me.

"Oh trust me, there will NOT be a next time" I say giggling.
