so i unexpectedly wrote over 4000 words. enjoy!!

"i don't want to stay with him. he's annoying!" i say to my parents.

"well, you're gonna have to because us and his parents are going on a business trip." my mom says.

"i'm 19, i can stay by myself." i argue.

"but it'll rain these days. would you like to sleep alone?" she says.

"i have friends." i say.

"alcoholic ones." she says.

i groan and run up to my room. i shut my door and flop onto my bed. i scream into my pillow.

"i'm 19 for gods sake." i talk to myself.

a knock was heard at my door. i sit up and tell them to come in.

"hi sweetie."

"don't call me that dad." i say

"yeonwoo, your mother's right. staying with him would be better than staying with your friends. last time we saw you with them, you were crazy drunk." he says.

"not drunk, tipsy." i say.

"so drunk. pack your things and we'll send you there." he says.

"but he's annoying."

"its been forever since you've seen him. maybes he's changed." he says.

"pfft, change. he's a boy. they always cause trouble." i say.

"it's gonna rain and like your mother said, would you like to sleep alone?" he repeats.

"you guys always bring that exuse up."

backstory

warning: child abduction. don't read if sensitive.

◇ when i was a little kid about 4, i was outside playing in the rain by myself. this man walked towards me and offered me a rainbow lollipop. he had a scar on his right hand. i was interested and asked for it. he said if i follow him to the convenience store he'll buy me more and so i did what he asked. i walked with him but he started walking the opposite side of the store.

"the stores over there." i said and pointed at the store.

"well we're going to a bigger one." he says.

i smiled at the man but he gave me a nasty look. we were in an empty area and he suddenly grabbed me. he put my body onto his shoulders and ran. i screamed but the sound of a van opening and he shoved me into the vechile before anyone could see. he immediately closed the door and got into the driver seat. i was tortured and abused for 2 days by the man until the cops finally found me. my parents barely let me go because of that incident. ◇

"everyday it rains, that memory haunts me." i say.

my dad puts his hand on my shoulder and comforts me.

i was in the car with my headphones in looking out the window. my back touch the seat and my head lays. the car stopped by a big house and the engine stops. my parents get out of the car and my mom knocks on the car window. i sigh and grab my luggage next to me. i walk out of the car and to the door where my parents wait. they knock on the door and we wait. the door opens and his mom opens the door.

"hello."

"hi."

our moms greet each other and give each othet a hug. we walk inside and our dads give each other a hand shake. i take off my shoe and leave my luggage by the door step.
