As midnight struck a fair few hours later after the cops had made sure to check absolutely everywhere both inside and outside, it was deemed as clear and the shop had been taken out of lockdown.

Vanessa uncomfortably rubbed her arms in an extremely off-put and awkward manner while the cops started to leave, her ears caught the sound of footsteps approaching upon her shortly afterwards before she was suddenly greeted by a hand on her shoulder. As she jumped whilst still tense and frightful after what they had encountered, a male voice spoke from beside her,

“Vanessa, hey. You okay?”

he spoke, it was Ryder. She looked to him as he stood right beside her,

“Hm? Oh... Yeah, I’ll be okay.”

she lied straight through her lips, looking to him with a small smile though there was great terror behind that mask. He spoke once more,

Vanessa nodded to him as he offered to listen and talk to her about it, after all they both would more than likely need therapy after tonight’s occurrence and she was positive that there was something about that man that wasn’t human, the aura he gave off was just pure darkness, it began to torment her mind. She soon shook her head to try and rid herself of the horrible memory and grabbed her car keys from her pocket before unlocking her car.

“Goodnight, Vanessa!”

Her boss called out while he locked the door, getting ready to properly lock up the place and head out the back door, she waved and called back,
