Guys, so sorry. I'm having major writer's block...
This took me ages and I'm not that happy about it, but I hope next chapter will be easier to write...''Lex? Where are you going so late?'' my brother Matt asked me, when I tried sneaking down the stairs late at night.
''What makes you think... I'm going somewhere?'' I stuttered, always being a terrible liar around my brother. He knew me too well, so why even bother?
My point was proven when he just gave me a skeptical look.
''Ugh, fine! I'm going out with someone. Just don't wake mom and dad, okay?''
''Do I know this someone?''
This was the question I was dreading. Of course he knew this someone. It was his friend Colson, the guy with too many issues. He would never approve me dating someone 3 years older than me...
''Lex...'' he said using his brotherly voice.
''Just don't get mad, please?'' I said, while opening the front door, exposing Colson, who of course had a lit cigarette in hand.
''You've got to be kidding me?'' Matt really didn't seem to believe, but when neither of the two spoke, he knew they were serious, ''Fine, I won't tell mom and dad, but bring her back safely, don't do anything stupid and if you hurt her in any way, I will kill you.''
''I have no intentions to hurt her, Matt, I promise you.''
Yet he did. All the time. Even years after this promise he kept hurting Alexis over and over again.
Alexis had been waiting outside the building for all of them to come out, she feared if she was alone in a room with Colson again she would cause a big scene.
It had been cold outside, but she didn't really care. She waited for about an hour for them to come out, the entire group. Lily on her dad's back, her little arms tightly around his neck.
''Oh, there you are,'' Colson said, with a small smile.
''Here I am,'' she said dryly, not sparing him a second glance. ''Come Lils, say bye to daddy, we're going home.''
''Daddy, aren't you coming with us?'' Lily said pouting.
''No, sorry love, daddy has some important stuff to do. You'll see him later,'' Alexis said, before Colson could say anything.
''That's right honey, but I'll see you tomorrow alright?'' Colson said, trying his best to hide his frown.
Soon they said goodbye and they were on their way home.
Lily was soon asleep in her little bed, but Alexis couldn't sleep. She was angry, sad and disappointed. She was worried for her little girl being exposed like this, what would happen if the kids at school found out, would they treat her differently? Would paparazzi keep bothering her everywhere she goes?
Alexis stared at the ceiling as the memories came flooding back. Back to that first date, the one where Colson stole her heart and promised to never hurt her.
Colson and I were walking down the street, right after saying goodbye to my brother.
''Well that was awkward...'' I said with a nervous smile.
''Nah, it was just sweet. I would do it too, if I had a little brother or sister.''
We had some small talk after that and I learned that Colson has had a tough childhood. His mother left him and his dad at a young age and even though he does live with his father, they don't have a great bond with each other. Besides that, they don't really have money.
