I'm so sorry this chapter wasn't up sooner! I thought it had posted hours ago when I tried. Obviously not. Really, really sorry!
Hey guys! I'll try to keep this quick so you can get reading. Actually, just read the A/N at the end of the chapter. This chapter is really short, sorry.
Hope you enjoy!
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*"Louis," Eleanor hesitated, "Will you come in?"
The 'couple' were currently sitting outside of El's apartment building in Louis' car. They had just left their final destination-dinner-and had decided to call it a night. Even if it was early at 6:00.
Louis sighed and rubbed his face, "El, it's been a long day. I really just want to get home."
"To Harry, right?" Eleanor muttered sourly under her breath.
"Huh?" Louis questioned, having not caught the comment.
Eleanor shook her long, brown haired head, "Nothing. Just, please?" She begged, "There's something I really need to talk to you about."
Louis dropped his head back against the headrest in aggravation, "Why can't you tell me now, here, so I can get going?"
"I have something I need to give you," she added.
Louis grumbled incoherently as he forced himself to climb out of the car. He didn't even bother through his irritation to go around to Eleanor's side and open her door like a gentleman. He stormed away and up to the apartment building front door. El struggled to get out and rush up behind him. He pushed through the thick and heavy entrance doors just a few paces ahead of El, but still didn't want for her. He didn't pay anymore attention to the apartment lobby worker than a sharp nod. Louis didn't even stop until he was forced to because when he pushed the button, the elevator wasn't to their floor yet for the doors to open right up. When the doors finally did open, he stepped in and jabbed at the number for El's floor before stepping back. Eleanor hesitantly entered with him; keeping closer to the elevator's doors.
"Five minutes," he growled from behind her, "You have five minutes and then I'm leaving."
Just then, the ding of the elevator was made and the heavy steel elevator doors opened. Lou didn't see, but El's eyes widened at this. She ran out of the small contraption and ahead to unlock the door to her place down the hall before he could reach it.
Louis never acted like this before for Eleanor. He was normally such a sweet man with all the charms. He was always antsy when the 'dates' would come to an end. She knew she had been hired by Modest! as a cover for Louis. They hadn't told her, but as a fan herself, she thought it had always been to cover something between Louis and Harry. But, before her last questioning about it nearly a month ago, his answer had always been no.
While she had a sinking feeling he was always lying about that, she also debated maybe he wasn't. Everything else she questioned would be answered truthfully. That confusion led to Eleanor's delusional thoughts that perhaps, her hiring wasn't her fears. That Louis actually may like her; ignoring the way acts at the end of dates. But, the way he was acting now, she had to admit, worried her. It cracked the twisted glass she had put up to block on the reasons to point to what she feared.
Just as Eleanor pushed the door open, Lou came up behind and shoved passed. She was startled by his abrupt appearance, but still raced again behind him after she shut the door securely. She followed Lou through the house. She wasn't expecting him to suddenly stop and whip around. El was caught so off guard she managed to continue and run right into his chest. Louis' hardness broke for a moment to grab her shoulders so she didn't fall backwards. But, once she was fine, his hands removed themselves as though her were gripping fire.
