Chapter 12

Louis sighed into Harry's side as they both made their way into the house with the rest of the vampires making it in slowly, Josh to be the last after getting his ass kicked by the curly headed vampire. He hadn't healed fully yet, so the limp he had was slowing him down and his ribs scraped against his lungs every time he stepped and breathed.

"I didn't expect you to be..." Josh stopped talking, grimacing at the burning on his side and he slowly slumped onto the chair nearest the sliding door that led to the back yard. Harry smirked and leant against the wall when Louis let him go.

"You didn't expect me to be telling the truth that you wouldn't be able to win?" Harry asked with an eyebrow raised and a slight smirk still on his face. He walked over and tapped Josh's cheek and the man straightened out with a gasp, feeling everything heal a lot faster than they were going, much faster than he'd ever expected it to feel to be healed by a healer.

"That was... weird," the man frowned and looked away from the curly haired vampire who just laughed lightly in return before slumping in the seat beside Josh. Neither of them looked at each other, but Harry looked over at Louis with a fond smile who returned it.

"I had expected there to be a few things to work on, Harry, but that was excellent, maybe you should be teaching Josh," Zayn said, looking over at the two sat at the table. He hadn't expected Harry to do so well and had thought Josh would land a few good, crippling hits, but the man's hits didn't do much damage and Harry just seemed to be prolonging it, teasing and having fun til he felt the fight was done even if he wasn't.

Josh glared at Zayn briefly before getting up and leaving the room, which no one bothered to say anything about or even acknowledge. Louis came and sat in the seat where Josh was, sitting beside Harry, and stared at the curly haired lad.

"There's a lot to work on, though," Liam spoke up, "I mean, still have to teach him abilities and stuff, the ones he doesn't already know how to use... which would be the majority of them." Harry sighed, slumping in his chair at the thought of having to learn how to use all of his abilities when he didn't even know what they were, only the couple that he had already used, and that was briefly.

"Is it important to learn all of them? I mean, can't I just learn the ones that are really important and need them to survive?" he asked, picking at his nails. Louis snorted at Liam's face, he looked like he didn't want to argue or give fire to Harry's complaining, but they both knew it was completely necessary. But he believed they could meet in the middle.

"Er... how about... we teach you each one of our abilities seeing as you have all of them?" Liam suggested and expected the younger man to complain, but much to his astonishment, Harry didn't protest or complain, but simply nodded.

Groaning with defeat, Harry flopped onto the floor, giving up on trying to light the leaf on fire like he was trying to be taught. No matter how hard he had thought about it, he couldn't make the leaf catch on fire and he was beginning to get frustrated. But he tried again anyway in a desperate attempt to actually succeed in lighting it on fire.

"Gah!" he cried and smacked the leaf out of Zayn's hand who laughed in return, "I can't bloody do it!" Slumping on the floor with defeat, he glared down at the grass with a slight pout on his lips. Louis chuckled at him before plopping down right next him and picked up the leaf that Zayn was holding before Harry slapped it.

"C'mon, you just have to focus," he said gently, placing the leaf in his mate's hand. "Just picture fire, love, picture it vividly. Remember what it looks like, how hot it feels, the way it moves, it flickers. Think of all aspects of the fire and then picture the leaf, remember the heat of the fire. Just imagine the heat in the leaf rising, picture it burning, anywhere on the leaf."
