You finally step out of the shower and see that Chris left his shirt by the sink. You smile to yourself and wrap a towel around yourself before picking it up and holding it. It still smells like him, with the slightest smell of his cologne still lingering. You look up at yourself in the mirror and drop the towel, inspecting your body. The love bites Chris had given you were faint, but you could still see them. You look down at your legs, and see the injuries. You sigh and rub your finger over them, they were sore. Thank God none of them were deep enough for stitches. You put on Chris's shirt and your shorts and dry your hair the best you can with the towel before stepping out of the bathroom. Chris wasn't in his bedroom, but you could hear him singing in the kitchen. You carefully tiptoe out and around the corner so you could hear him. You can also smell that he's cooking something.

"I'm ready to bury all of my bones, I'm ready to lie but say I won't, so tell me your secrets and join me in pieces, to rot in this garden made of stones, Eternally Yours..." He sings, he figured you'd be in the shower for a while, but he decided to go ahead and make some pancakes for you. You step around the corner and wrap your arms around his bare torso.

"Was that new? I really liked that." You whisper, and he smiles.

"You're always sneaking up behind me, aren't you?" He chuckles and continues what he's doing. You rest your head on his back.

"But yes, it is new. I haven't finished it yet. How do you feel?" He finally stops and puts the extra dishes in the sink, turning around to look at you. You shrug, and fiddle with your hands. "I made you some pancakes, I know it's like, 8 pm but I don't know when the last time you ate was and I figured I'd at least try to make it up to you." He hands you a plate.

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." You smile and put some pancakes on your plate before following Chris to the couch.

"You should get lots of rest tonight, big day tomorrow." He kisses your cheek and sits beside you. You nod and start eating. Chris puts on a Netflix show, and you both eat and watch in comfortable silence.

You yawn and look at your phone, and the clock says it's midnight. Chris is asleep in your lap in a similar way you were the night before. You gently run your fingers through his hair out of his eyes.

"Chris, babe we should go to bed." You mumble, tapping his cheek lightly. He stirs and then sits up slowly.

"Sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep." He stands up and stretches his long, tattooed arms over his head. You take a moment to admire his form, and the beautiful artwork on his skin. This was always the way you liked to see them, you thought they looked best when illuminated by the moonlight. You stand up and walk with him to his room. He lays down and makes room for you and holds out his arms. You crawl in and curl up beside him. He turns to lay on his back and you nuzzle into his side and rest your hand on his chest.

"So, I have a question." You say after a few minutes. He tilts his head to look at you.

"What's up?"

"What happened in your last relationship? Why did you break up?" You whisper, still thinking about earlier. You can feel him tense up, but he doesn't say anything.

"There were... a lot of issues. I'd rather not talk about it right now." He finally says, still tense. He was really hoping you wouldn't push the matter, his last relationship might have been one of the worst he was in. You nod.

"Sorry, I was just thinking about earlier. I want you to know that I'm going to be here with you when you decide to bury your skeletons. I would want you to be there for me when I confront my own." You prop yourself up on your arm, your head in your hand. You start to trace over the pumpkins on his neck, and then along the winged coffin. You watch as he closes his eyes. His doubt is still holding the best of him, he doesn't know when he'll be able to fully come clean with you. You dip your head down and kiss his jawline gently. He exhales deeply, and then turns so he's facing you. He grabs your leg and pulls it over his and pulls you closer. He rests his hand on your cheek.
