It was a Sunday morning after the hair ruffling event ended with both boys going back to their dorms in silence, waving a goodbye before walking in and collapsing onto the soft embrace of the bed mattress.Stephen was laying on his back staring at the ceiling, thoughts flooding his senses and silence deafening his ears. It have only been a day since he came here, meeting his old childhood friend and then meeting his dorm neighbor; it was a fun event indeed.
Although after all of that, night rolls around and Stephen didn't want the day to end that quick- especially since night wasn't always his favorite. Always flooding him with dark thoughts and silence whispering in his ears, it always drives him insane.
Being alone in a silent and dark room gives Stephen anxiety, paralysing him and dragging him down to this dark abyss of anxiety and dark thoughts; with no air to breathe and his gaze wide- if Stephen could trade places with someone rather than dealing with his emotions, he would be doing it now.
Letting out a shaking breath, Stephen sat up and trailed his hand over to his nightstand; grabbing his glasses and letting it rest against the bridge of his nose, looking over at the nightstand and tapping his phone open- the bright flash almost nearly waking the Stephen's eyes wide open. Squinting at the source, he took a glance at what time it is.
' 12 AM '
With a groan, having to wake up this early so sudden wasn't even Stephen's habit- knowing he always wakes up around 8 or 9 AM; but this was different. Standing up while being in a daze, he lazily walked over to the bathroom; turning the knob and hastily opening the door, squinting and trailing his hand to the walls. After trying to find the light switch in a few moments, finally hearing a click and a flash of light brightens up the whole room.
Looking at the mirror in front of him, a tired and sad look was displayed in the mirror.
He hated looking at mirrors, having to deal with your reflection and staring at your own eyes. It feels like his mirror reflection could just break through and strangle him right there, killing him without any mercy. Maybe the phrase was true, it was killing him inside; dealing with the same disgusting feeling everyday with noone to open up to.
Gripping at the porcelain sink, shoulders drooping down and the edge of his lips tugging into a frown; choking out a sob, he stood there.
Silent and disheveled, looking pathetic in front of a mirror.
Taking a deep breath, he shakily exhaled out his frustration and went back to bed.
