     Entry Four

     March the 3rd, 1618

Joan wakes me up early this morning. I get dressed very quickly, and in my warmest clothes, for the forest is very cold during the months of winter and early spring. I hurry towards our kitchen, where our back door lies. I pit my hand on the doorknob, and am about to open it, when I hear a knock. I look around, before realising that it is coming from the front of the house.

    The witch hunters have come.

I open the door, knowing that I will be too late if I wait a second longer. As Joan turns to wave me off, I do something I have not done since I was eight - I hug her, although quickly, since I must hurry.

They knock again, and I run out of the house.

The last things I see before I lose sight of where I have lived for so long, and the person that has cared for me during all that time, is Joan turning to go and answer the door...

...and a pair of eyes in the darkness.

A.N. I'm sorry this chapter was so short.

However, this is the last chapter - which means that this story is now completed! Let me know if there should be a sequel or not (but please bear in mind that if there is, it'll be quite a long time before it's out).

On a separate note, feel free to suggest anything I could improve - I'm open to (constructive) criticism!

Thank you to anyone who read this story until the very end. It doesn't matter if you were there from the beginning, or joined now, or even if you're reading this in the future - near or far.

If you enjoyed this, feel free to check some of my other stories out (when they've been put on here)!
