Reading the Word

My dudes and lovely babes!

Today, I just wanna share a couple things I've been learning during my walk with Christ. One of those things is the importance of reading the Bible. Despite how challenging it may seem, as believers, we NEED to immerse ourselves in that God-inspired book.

Romans 10:17 says:
"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of God."

I love what Paul says in this verse. He emphasizes where faith comes from and how we can get that faith. He says faith comes from hearing and what we have to hear is God's Word. This is one of the primary ways God communicates to us. There's no better way to develop faith than through the very words that are inspired by our Father.

Not only can we increase of faith by doing this, but reading the Word equips us with a spiritual flashlight. In this dark world, we need to be able to see which path we should take to remain in right-standing with God. We need to be able to see where we are going.

Psalm 119:105 says:
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

This verse beautifully illustrates what God's Word can do for us if we never let it leave our side. I don't know about you, but I feel it is so easy to get lost and lose our sense of direction when we stop listening to God. His voice gets muffled by the noise in this world to the point where it gets hard to differentiate between Him and the world. His Word says that His sheep know His voice. We can only recognize His light-giving Word if we know what He says.
