Her eyes fluttered open to the reflection of her own soul's doors, making her body jolt for a moment before coming to the realization of what it was that was staring back at her.

She took a breath and placed herself in an upright position, her hand gliding over the reflection surface. She had fallen asleep at the dining table, presumably right after she sat down and yet she seemed thankful that nothing ruined her shroud of darkness while she slept. Nightmares were something that usually tainted her most mornings but not today, not to mention the wave of comfort she felt when remembering she had today off work.

Her eyes pranced to the nearby window, not being able to recall the last time she left the house to explore her new surroundings ever since the move. Her breath strained when she considered that she might have to socialise if she went outside of her home yet she didn’t want to push herself into a state of being a shut-in like she was when she was younger. It took a short while but she soon heard the name being called that she was titled since she entered this world, turning to greet the barista with a masked smile as she allowed her hands to envelope the warmth that the drink gave off, even when it was limited within such a dense and developed cardboard. It’s heat combated the cold and brisk winds that the morning gave to the city of Markham. Her nose caught the aroma of the delicacies that were set in the next display case but she let her stomach rumble ruthlessly, burying her hunger down and exiting the small corner shop.
