Is It Wrong?

The next morning Robin woke up and found the team in the living room watching the news. Aqualad noticed him first and spoke, "Have you seen Godzilla?"

"Yeah, I saw him last night, we actually need to talk about that."

Kid Flash spoke, "Talk about what?"

"He's getting really fed up with how everyone's been treating him, I'm honestly surprised he hasn't run away yet."

Artemis spoke, "We didn't do anything."

Robin glared at her a little, "Really, calling him heartless is nothing?" Artemis looked like she wanted to argue bust stayed silent, "Guys, he literally killed one of his own kind to save Atlantis. He was sedated and taken away from his home, any of us would be mad if it happened to us and no one has given him a reason to not be hostile."

"He's really not that bad if you give him a chance, at least try to be nice to him, just for a little while."

They all looked reluctant but they agreed, not even a minute later Godzilla walked into the room while popping several of his joints. He went into the kitchen and grabbed an apple since it was the first thing he saw and took a bite. Kid Flash took a breath, "Hey, uh, Godzilla."

Godzilla paused and looked at them, "Surprising, the first thing you said to me wasn't an insult."

Now that did make them look a bit ashamed but only for a second, Godzilla looked at the TV and there was a story on about the great barrier reef. Scientists had been trying in vain to stop it from dying but it was getting worse, Godzilla hummed, "I'll have to fix that."

He mumbled it but they still managed to hear it and Superboy spoke, "What do you mean fix it?"

"Titans are good for more then just destroying things."

He took another bite of the apple and they all looked confused, the story changed to a story about an archeological dig. The reporter spoke, "Scientists recently discovered the bones of not one but two large predators that they've dated to be over two hundred fifty million years old. I'm here with the scientist in charge of leading the team that uncovered the skeletons Dr. Manning."

The reporter turned to the scientist, "What have you discovered about the bones so far?"

Manning smiled, "Well aside from carbon dating the bones we've estimated that when the creatures were alive they would have weighed over one hundred sixty-four thousand tons. That far exceeds the theoretical limit to how much a land animal can weigh without being crushed under it's own weight."

The reporter looked confused, "Then how could they exist at all?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out, along with what killed them."

"So something actually managed to kill something this big?"

"Based on the bite marks we've found on the bones that's the running theory but we've got a lot of work to do before we can determine the real cause of death."

The reporter looked at the camera again, "Very interesting, I think you'll agree when you see the images of the bones we got from the air."

The footage changed to an aerial view of the site and the heroes were surprised, they were absolutely huge. They could actually see some of the bite marks the scientist mentioned, no one noticed how Godzilla froze. He stared at the image of the skeletons before he growled and crushed the apple in his hand which made many of them jump.

Godzilla started to walk out of the room without saying a word and Robin moved to stop him, "Godzilla wait, what-."

Godzilla turned and growled at him before he could stop him, "Don't."

He then walked out and Miss Martian spoke, "What just happened?"

Robin stared at where Godzilla left, "I think something about those skeletons made him mad." Robin quickly went to catch up with Godzilla but he'd already lost sight of him, though he had a guess as to where he went. Robin went outside and found Godzilla sitting in the water staring out over the horizon with a far off look in his eyes.

Robin took off his shoes, gloves, and cape before walking into the water and sitting next to Godzilla. "Hey."

"What do you want?"

Robin shrugged, "To see if your okay, and to ask if you want to tell me why you got so mad before."

Godzilla growled to himself, "That's none of your business."

Robin was quiet for a second, "I know, that's why I'm not going to try to make you tell me."

Godzilla refused to look at him, they were both silent for several minutes until the kaiju spoke, "They were my parents."

Robin's eyes widened and he looked at Godzilla, "What?"

Godzilla glared at nothing, "I was born back before the world was overrun with humans, when kaiju ruled the world and other creatures feared us. Among those kaiju were my parents, they were cruel beyond measure and ruthless, so much so that they hurt their own child. When I was injured I would hide in the cave that is now my home, I would heal and go somewhere else in the world, they always found me."

"I was still a juvenile back then, one day they seemed to snap, they would have killed me but I fought back. After what felt like days I'd killed both of them but I was badly injured, it took time to heal and when I had I went back to find they'd been buried in a massive landslide. I thought that was the last time I'd see them, I was happy to let them rot like they deserved and I don't regret killing them."

Robin stared at Godzilla in shock, he could tell from the look in his eyes that he was telling the truth. Robin looked at him sadly, his hand seemed to move on it's own and he put his hand on Godzilla's. The kaiju seemed a little surprised but he didn't take his hand away, "I didn't know."

"Neither does anyone else, including the other kaiju, though it isn't uncommon for one of us to kill our parents."

Robin looked over the horizon like Godzilla had been doing and he was silent as he thought for a minute. Then he spoke, "I feel like I should feel bad for them but I don't, not even a little, is it wrong that I'm glad you killed them?"

Godzilla quietly sighed, "Well if it is then we're both screwed up, though for me that goes without saying."

Robin couldn't help but laugh a little and he took a minute to breathe, he actually felt calm and he realized he hadn't felt that in a while. The warm sun, the lazy waves hitting him gently, the smell of ocean water, the calm breeze, it was just relaxing. Maybe this was why Godzilla wanted to go home so much, he then realized his hand was still on the kaiju's and he paused.

Godzilla hadn't tried to pull his hand away or seemed uncomfortable with it so he didn't move, he felt happy.
