Welcome to Frostford
A red car pulled up and came to a stop on a driveway. Three cars followed behind the red car and stopped. A car door opened and a girl stepped out.
"Grandma, is this our new house?" She turned and shouted towards the red car.
An old lady stepped out when the little girl called her. "Yes, Ava. This is our new home."
A little boy in one of the three cars made a face at the state of the house. "I don't understand why we have to move from our old house to this older house"
The little boy's mom turned to him and said, "We have all made a decision to come and stay with Grandma at her hometown. This is also where your dad grew up. Now, stop making faces and come out to see the house."
The little boy reluctantly came out of the car. He came to a stop at the pathway leading to the house. "It looks like it's going to break down any second."
The grandma tsked him, "It was Grandma's childhood house, of course it will wear and tear overtime. But with just a bit of repair and a fresh coat of paint, it will look as good as new."
"Fine, but I'm not staying in that place until it's fixed" He said, crossing his arms.
"We'll be staying at another rented house first. We just stopped by to take a look at our house." His mom pacified him.
"Come on, let's head over to the place we'll be staying for a while." The little boy's dad said.
As they drove down the street heading towards their temporary house, they passed by many old Victorian style houses. One of them caught Ava's eyes.
"Grandma, look at that house!" She pointed to the house. Her grandma leaned forward to take a peek at the house Ava was pointing at. It was an oddly-shaped house, painted in deep violet. The house had many windows, both rectangular and round-shaped. There was also a pointy roof, definitely not a common sight to see.
"Ava!" she quickly grabbed Ava's hand. "Don't point at other people's houses."
"But, Grandma!" Ava wanted to say something.
"That house has been there ever since I was a little girl. It has stayed the same fifty years back even before I had left this town. It's very mysterious. There are many houses like this one. No one has seen anyone leaving or entering the houses. But it has been maintained very well. No one can enter those houses."
"What if the people living there are witches? Then they don't need to open the door or drive in." Ava said.
"There have been many stories, but no one knows the owner or anyone who lived there." Grandma turned Ava to sit her properly in the seat.

Twelve years later
"Ava! Time for school!"
"Coming!" Ava shouted from her room. Looking at herself in the mirror, outfit check, makeup check, hair check, done.
"Ava, take a sandwich to school. You're running late." Her grandma said as she heard Ava run down the stairs.
"Thanks Grandma!" Ava kissed her on the cheek and ran out to the car waiting outside.
"Finally, I thought you were never coming out." Her cousin, Ashton said as he started the car.
"It's going to be your last few days of high school soon." Ava said as she munched on her sandwich. "Have you decided if you're going to stay here or leave town?"
"I'm definitely getting out of this town. Twelve years is enough time spent here. I can't wait to head back to the city and go back to civilization."
"Hey, the town isn't bad. It doesn't have skyscrapers and as many buildings packed so closely, but it has all the basics and necessity."
