Chapter 6

Jennings Coven

The sun flowed in the house. The roof closed when the sun peaked out.

Sitting up, Ava stretched her arms out. She opened her eyes to a mirror. Her hair had changed slightly. Brunette with blonde highlights. Just like Zoe and Chloe. Her sisters. She felt great.

Stretching her arms once more, she closed her eyes to enjoy this feeling. Nothing felt more right than waking up. Letting her arms down with some force, she was determined to start her day.

A glass shattered, giving Ava a shock. Freezing for a moment, she lifted her legs and placed her feet softly on the floor. Slowly getting up, she walked lightly to the stairs and went down. She tread the floor lightly, making sure not to touch any other thing or have any sudden movements. She made her way to the kitchen where Myra, Veronica and Zoe were eating breakfast at the table. Chloe was sitting there, waving her hands to have the coffee make itself.

Everyone looked in the direction of Ava when she walked in.

Chloe burst out laughing at the way Ava was walking. Ava's cheeks burnt red.

"Chloe!" Zoe reprimanded her and went up to Ava. She lightly dragged Ava to the chair to sit.

"Don't worry, just take things lightly first. Come, have a piece of croissant." Zoe patted Ava's leg.

"Don't worry, if you break anything, we can fix it," Chloe said as the coffee cup glided to her.

Zoe glared at Chloe for her comment then ignored her. Taking out something from her pocket, she placed it in front of Ava. It was a round crystal pendant with a gold chain attached to it.

"Witches can communicate through a mind link. We won't be able to read minds but we can communicate telepathically. Right now, you don't have much control of your magic. This necklace can help you with mind links. Touch the crystal and picture the person you want to talk to then speak with your mind. You will only be reaching out to that one person. Later on, you can create mind links and talk to more than one person at the same time. Like having a conversation with all of us. But that will be later on once you are able to control your magic better. The necklace will help with controlling your magic for now. You can remove it later when you have more experience with your magic," Zoe explained. The necklace floated and settled on Ava's neck.

"Today is still the day of your birthday, so no going out today," Veronica said as she got up. The dishes automatically washed and placed back into their place. She reached out with her right hand in front of Ava. A small box appeared, "Happy Birthday". By the time Ava looked up, Veronica was gone.

"Open it." Chloe leaned forward. Her face filled with excitement. "We don't really celebrate any of our birthdays because there isn't really anything we can't get on usual days. Open it!"

Ava opened the box to reveal a silver bracelet. Diamonds decorated the entire bracelet and the disconnected ends were embedded with delicate heart-shaped diamonds.

Chloe gasped, "She never bought things like this for me! I had to buy my own"

"Oh stop being upset. It's Ava's first birthday with us," Zoe rolled her eyes at the small tantrum.

"Ava, this isn't a normal bracelet. It's a roomage bracelet. This can store a house full of items, except for living things, it can store anything," Myra explained, "Yep, it's quite useful. Especially since you just started with magic, conjuring items may not work out all the time. It's like this when you just started learning how to use magic."

"You may not be able to totally control your magic as of yet. Especially because of today. So we won't be teaching you any magic yet." Zoe clapped her hands, "So we're going to start with some simple things first. We'll take turns teaching you."
