Chapter IV

Misty D'Entremont

After Lunch That Same Day...

I heaved a sigh as I dumped my tray into the trash, lunch was pretty much over, and we had a break until more classes came along. I looked around to see if I could spot anyone out of all the faces that were in the cafeteria, and didn't really see anyone I felt like talking to during my break and decided to go for a short walk outside instead, it was getting kinda stuffy from staying inside so long.

I pushed my hair, which had gradually fallen out of the bun I had it in, back from my face and headed for the doors. I stepped out into the chilly air and smiled, taking in a deep breath, my lungs filled with the cool air and stung my eyes for a moment. I shivered once then walked over to the bench to the right of the doors, now that I thought about it I didn't feel like walking. I sat down and pulled my legs up to my chest, I easily slipped my itouch out of my pocket and unwound the earbuds, when I finally untangled them I put them both into my ears and pressed the button at the bottom of the screen, the screen lit up and asked for the pin, I typed in my 4 digit pin and the itouch clicked open and I immediately started scrolling through music till I came to 'Nice Piece Of Art' by 'FM Static' I pressed play, and yawned once before quietly singing along as I then proceeded to browse old pictures from back home, trying my best not to tear up at all the memories. Maybe looking at pictures wasn't the smartest idea.

I glanced up at the sky and noticed how dark it was getting because of the rani clouds that were invading. I snuggled deeper into my hoodie and rubbed my bare knees with the palm of my hand, I looked back at the screen and watched as a few fell on it and I quickly pulled my hand up to shelter it under my arm. I glanced around as I watched the rain fall, well that had been really sudden. I yawned slightly and saw a few people walking my way.

It was Janice and her preppy friend May, both of them had those excited looks that they usually have when they've heard a juicy bit of gossip. I frowned, it was too late to go invisible. Both girls walked over and stood in front of me.

"Ohmygawd!!" Cried Janice, unable to hold in the gossip any longer. I pulled the ear buds out of my ears and gave them both polite smiles and a curt nod waiting for them to gush out whatever they wanted to tell me then let them be on their way and leave me alone again.

"Have you seen that super smexy new guy?" Janice said with a mischievous smile on her face.

"Ohhhh, he is sooo hot!" Gushed May as she nodded her head vigorously, her ponytail flopping around with each nod. I smirked up at them and shook my head and shrugged.

"His name has something to do with a log.. I think it was Logger, or.. Logerd.." May trailed off as she looked at her nails and her face scrunched up as she tried to remember what it was.

"It's Logan you idiot!" Said Janice as she rolled her eyes and shifted her weight, placing her hands on her hips. I almost snorted but I kept the polite smile on my face, these girls were absolutely comical. I know this sounds so cliché, but these girls were straight out of those over-exaggerated prep high school chick flicks. One was the innocent(or so you think) blonde, and the other was the smart brunette with all the gossip.

"What a weird name, anyways, I'm going to try and talk to him, I think I saw him in the cafeteria not long ago." Said May, not fazed by Janice's little insult. Janice shot her a look and rolled her eyes again.

"Oh come on May, we both know he's been wanting to talk with me." She said confidently. I raised a skeptical eyebrow. Logan was reluctant to talk to me even, how would Janice get the idea he wanted to talk to her? I smirked a little and shook my head a little bit as I looked back down at my itouch sliding it into my sleeve so it'd stay dry.
