Two days before Nicolette ran away...
"Hiram... A vendor in Greendale is on the phone for you."
"Thank you... Hello?"
"Aunties! He actually picked up." Mr. Lodge couldn't tell if the person on the phone had an actual British accent or if he was messing around with him. He'd told Hermosa to take care of the other variables in Greendale before she set foot in town and she said that she had.
"This is Hiram."
"Mr. Lodge, I'm calling in regards to Dani Woodhouse... The alleged corpse held a pulse. We did everything we could to-"
"What the hell are you saying?"
"She's alive, sir. At Greendale General."
"And who am I speaking to?"
"Ambrose, sir..." the Greendale guy said, "Ambrose Spellman."
"And where is she now?"
"In a coma for the third year in a row. she's beginning to show signs of life." Ambrose said, "We'll be payi-"
"No." Hiram interrupted, "Keep this between us and I will pay the medical bills. Anything she needs."
"And what about her sister?" He'd almost forgotten that these were his daughter's cousins.
"She is safe." Hiram said, "She is safe."
Not even a week later, his daughter would be reported missing and eventually dead. But, if you've been following the story, you already knew that.
