A day later...

Jughead and I were in the middle of a writing session beside Bret when the door burst open. In all her big, blonde glory Betty barged through the doorway, a triumphant smile on her face.'
"I am so on to you, Bret!" She pointed to me, "We both are! You think you're so much better than everyone when in fact you are nothing."
Jughead looked confused, "Betts, what's this about..?"
"Oh, so Starlet didn't tell you how I found out your roommate's diplomat father paid someone to take the PSATs for him and to avoid scandal he bought his way into Stonewall Prep. Your roommate acts all high and mighty when in reality he hasn't earned anything in his life."
Bret sighed earnestly, "Why are you trying to make me the bad guy? At least I'm not writing YA fiction based on your serial killer father or Starlet's abusive mafia father without consulting his writing partner."
I grabbed my bag and pushed past the two boys. Betty looked at me, equally as upset, "That's what your story is based on? And you didn't tell either of us? Let's go, Starlet. Now."
"Gladly." I'd been gone for a day and Jug had already screwed everything up. We had a story. We were writing about Jason. Cheryl Blossom even read our first draft. Why would he throw it all away?

"He's wrong." Archie said as I sat next to him, "You've been somebody without him for 14 years."
"Thanks, Red. I have to go work on Amber and CoraLynn."
