Chapter 14 - Black and White Pt. 1

I'm back! Nothing more to say except just enjoy the chapter which I was able to put up for all of you guys following cause I appreciate and love your guys support. Without further ado let's go!

Blake was not sure why she even bothered running. It was not like she had anywhere she could go, especially now that her teammates knew her secret, or at least part of it. Not that any of that was enough to make her stop running, and nothing did save for when she finally could not run anymore, too out of breath and too tired to really go much further than she had already gone. Upon looking up, Blake saw that she had stopped just before the statue that served as the center piece of Beacon's courtyard, and while others would probably consider it as comforting, right now, all it did was remind her of how most people were likely to view people like her, and how her teammates now more than likely thought of her now that they knew. In that moment, standing out in the courtyard all alone, Blake felt like she could not keep it anymore, and did nothing to stop the tears from falling once she knew they were starting to form. The only thing she did do was reach up and undo the bow in her hair, letting her locks fall lose, while the pair of little, black cat ears underneath were revealed for all to see.

In her moment of sorrow, Blake failed to realize that she was not as alone as she thought. "Huh, I figured you'd be a faunus, but I don't think I ever guessed that you would have cat ears," a familiar voice admitted, making Blake slowly turn to see a very sympathetic-looking Aptus a short distance behind her. 

"You're...Ky's friend," Blake spoke up. "Aptus, right?"

"The one and only," Aptus stated proudly. "Got it memorized?"

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with him?" Blake questioned, only to get a shrug in return.

"Well, from one faunus to another..." Aptus began, gesturing to Blake and himself. "I wanted to see if you were okay." When Blake did not say anything in response, Aptus just nodded and muttered, "Right, stupid question."

"Look if you have something to say, just say it," Blake said bitterly. "I'm sure you heard of what I said back there. Are you here to take me down or arrest me? I mean, it's your job to protect the worlds from dangerous people, right?"

"Technically, our job is to protect the world from things like the Grimm and anyone who disturbs the peace. Besides, what reason would I have to arrest you?" Aptus questioned, surprising Blake a little when he said that.

"What?"

"I mean, if you were a bad guy, then I'm sure you would've taken Ky of any one of your friends out long before now, and I doubt that you would be this shaken up over what had happened back there," Aptus added. Seeing that Blake still seemed really uncertain of a lot of things, the fox faunus just shrugged and said, "You know what, how about we just get away from here for a little bit? Give everyone some time to clear their heads and think things over for a little while."

"You're not going to make me go back or anything?" Blake asked.

"Hey, I'm still new here, so I don't know the whole story. But you are going to have to face the others eventually. Just know that I'm not ever going to judge anyone based on whatever happened in their past, White Fang or not, least of all Ky. Seriously, you'd be surprised how many friends that guy can make in such a short time" Aptus reassured her. He then smiled as he added, "I'll bet that your teammates are the same way. I mean, Yang seems pretty cool and Ruby...well, if what they say about everyone having a double is true, then I'd say she's definitely Ky's."
