Several Months later...

The streets of Vale were being decorated in time for the Vytal Festival. Red, yellow, and green streamers and balloons are proudly on display, and Team RWBYK were strolling through it all with an awed Weiss leading them all. A sign was being put up by the elderly shopkeeper of the From Dust Till Dawn store that read in bright red letters "WELCOME TO VALE!" for all the foreign newcomers from their kingdoms of Vytal.

"The Vytal Festival! Oh this is absolutely wonderful," Weiss of all people cheered with a smile that was almost comparable to that of a child's on Christmas.

"I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Snow White," Ky noted for everyone. He was not wrong, either. Ever since she heard that Vale was starting to set up all of its decorations and preparations for the Vytal Festival, Weiss had been smiling almost nonstop for the entire day, and that smile had only become more constant after they had arrived in the city proper a few minutes ago.

Even though she was happy to see her partner so happy and excited, Ruby still had to admit, "Yeah, It's kinda weirding me out..."

"How could you two not smile?" Weiss happily asked in return. "A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances, parades, a tournament!" The more Weiss spoke, the more the group came to understand why she was so excited, mainly because they were all just as excited for the same things. Or so it seemed, until Weiss added one last thing to her list of reasons to be excited. "Oh the amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breath taking."

That last one pulled a sigh out from Yang, along with the only comment that came to her mind in that moment. "You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring."

"Quiet you," Weiss snapped in annoyance. It was not her fault that the things she found fun and interesting was different from most other people's. Well...not entirely any way.

"Remind me again why we're spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?"

"Ugh, they smell like fish," Ruby groaned while pinching her nose.

"Yeah. Kinda reminds me a little of home," Ky sighed fondly as he took in his own whiff of the air. When the others looked at him a little weirdly, he only shrugged and said, "What? I've spent most of my life by the beach. What can I say?"

"That aside, there is a very important reason as to why we should all be here right now," Weiss announced, getting everyone's attention. "I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today, and as a representative of Beacon I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom."

"Wow. That's so big of you, and yet, it all sounds so...fake," Ky sarcastically praised, only dropping the sarcasm at the end. "What's the real reason?"

"She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament," Blake suggested, though from the tone of her voice, it sounded more like she was stating a fact than she was making a suggestion.
