Chapter 4: The Emerald Forest Pt. 1

Yay chapter 4 is here! This is where we finally get some real action for this story people. I'll try my best to update weekly. Hope you guys like this chapter as much as the last one. So as always please enjoy!

Brushing his fingers through his hair as he walked towards the locker room, Ky let out a loud yawn and stretched his arms over his head. It didn't take him long to be rewarded with a satisfying popping sound as the blunette lowered his arms. He was currently heading towards the locker room where all the students kept their weapons during the night, and according to Professor Goodwitch, those lockers would be theirs for the remainder of the student's time at Beacon Academy. The teen had just come from eating breakfast, which was a large variety of foods and recipes from all around Remnant... though for some reason there wasn't a lot of pancakes left, weird...

"Rosebud and Yang could've waited for me." Ky replied with a grumble as he recalled waking up and not seeing his two female friends anywhere. 

 Soon he walked into the room and continued walking towards his assigned lockers, passing several other students who were getting their equipment and preparing for what was to come in a few short hours. Glancing to his right, Ky saw the duo, Ren and Nora, talking in front of a locker... well, Nora was talking while Ren was quietly taking his weapons out of the locker.

"Oh, I know a way! We just need to have some sort of signal! Like a secret signal so we can find each other in the forest," Ky could hear Nora say before the girl pointed a finger at the boy, who was reaching into the locker. "Can you imitate a sloth?"

"... Nora," Ren replied with a calm voice.

"Yes, Ren?" Nora answered as she came to a halt.

Ky watched as Ren pulled out two bladed, semi-automatics from the locker before they collapsed into his sleeves, "I don't think sloths make a lot of noise."

"... That's why it's perfect!" Nora cheered as she pumped her arms, "No one will suspect the two of us are working together!"

"Come on, Nora. Let's go."

'Well, at least she is positive and knows what she wants.' Ky thought to himself as he watched Ren calmly walk away while Nora skip behind him.

"Meh, must be childhood friends." Ky said with a small smile as he made it to his locker before he opened it to reveal Bright Crest and Fallen Abyss in their two sheaths. A grin formed on Ky's face as he grabbed the sheaths, took them out of the locker and secured them on his back with their black straps as the hung on his shoulders. 

"Hey Ky, over here!" The bluenette turned his head to see Ruby and Yang several lockers down with Yang waving at him.

"Morning you two," Ky said with a smile as he walked over to them. "So, you guys ready to show what you've got?"

"Yep! No more awkward small talk or 'getting-to-know-you' stuff." Ruby cheerfully said as she took her Crescent Rose out of her locker before stroking it lovingly. "Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking."

Watching the younger teen sigh happily while pressing her cheek against her weapon, making Ky laugh lightly while Yang crossed her arms over her chest. "Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through Beacon's initiation. If you wanna grow up, you need to new people and learn to work together."
