Chapter 3

"It doesn't matter if you travel far or stay at home. All that matters is you survive against all the odds. You don't give up and you never back down. That's all that matters."

We escaped the hoard with just seconds to spare. They stormed into our hold up just as we pulled out. We watched as they filled in. We took a minute looking at the place we stayed safe for so long. So many memories. We stayed in silence and I pulled the trigger as the building blew up into a ball of fire and debris. We pulled back out and continued down the street.

"Hey TJ you think the secondary spot has been breached." I asked.

"Well it shouldn't be at location. As for the surrounding area possible."

"I guess we will take the risk. Derrick how much ammo do we have left."

He looked up from cleaning his gun a nice nickel plated .44 magnum.

"about 200 rounds for the .44. As for the rifle I think were down to 50."

"I'm guessing the rest of them are still at 200 also" I asked very hopeful

"More or less."

We traveled north from the building on the outskirts of Barrie to the cottages in Penatag. When we hit about 15 minutes away everyone fell into silence. slowly the loaded there guns and got prepared for what was to come.

The road seemed quiet and deserted ad we drove toward our stop. An eerie silence hung in the air as we pulled into a drive way. It was small with big trees lining the sides so we stopped as close as we could to the little cottage.

It was a dingy white surrounded by trees creating spots where you can't see the ground. Roots poke out of the ground making the ground even harder to navigate. We got out of the truck and started to grab as much stuff and ran it to a hill just before the beach. The hill was made with rocks and some set up as steps down. We got everything to it and then started to bring it down to where a boat about 25' long sat next to a dock.

As we started to load the last of the stuff on we noticed the water rippling an abnormal amount all along the beach. We stood there with no idea what was coming. Just stared as an army of walkers came out off the water.
