Chapter 8

This is my home now.

I closed the door, only to be crushed down to the floor with kisses and a full fledged wagging tail of a huge labrador.

"rockkyyy, aw I missed you tooo" I scream in excitment between the non stop licks and movements on the floor.

I get up and dust my self covered in fur before heading to the kitchen where katie is. being followed by rocky.

I take a deep breath and exhale it all at once, feels good to be home.

our friendship started when me and dad visited her house because not only did mom's car roll over, but did Katie's mom's too. Dating dad's and Katie's dad friendship years back. it was just a huge coincidence when we lost our moms at the same day and same time. It was like mom made us friends knowing I would be alone.

We kept the funeral together and have been separable ever since. we went to the same school and graduated together even though I didn't know her back then,she has a knack for architecture and have been following that dream, this very house is designed by her, exactly why im going to let her design my own house as well, happiness dwels in me just thinking about it.

She has an elder brother who spent most of his life abroad, so I never got to see him, I've only heard about him through Katie.

I make my way on the barstool and leaning my elbows against the counter. "Hey kate, im sorry for being here on such notice, I just wanted you to know, you mean so much to me and thankyou for being there for me" I say as I watch her making the coffee and handing it to me with a pack of ice.

"I love you too rose" she says now both of us making way to the couch. "why cant you just move in with me?, i cant watch and wait while they hurt you rose, please move in with me", pleaded kate.

" I want to katie, I want to, I can't take this anymore, if I do so they will try to takeover eveything I love and I wont let that happen. I have to protect of whats left of mom katie" I responded, as I twirl the coffee from one spot.

"I understand, just want you to understand the doors to this house are always open for you", says katie.
"I know, I love you katie" I said.
Theres nothing more better than a friend who always gas your back. shes not just my friend. she is family

"so are you going to come to the ball?", asked katie.

"I dont know kate, I dont have a proper dress to wear".

She jumped out of the couch nodding her head with excitement, "then lets go get you a dress", she ran to the room and came out wearing a jacket and her purse. damn shes too fabulous.

"Oh and my brother will be there too, so we have to go!", she exclaims.

I've never seen her brother, so I guess, I might as well go and say Hi.

"okay then",

we both chuckled when we made our way out. into the mercedes and drove off.
