I, as always, awoke in the familiar dog bed. I lifted my head, getting up abruptly.

Okay, how many more times must I have this dream?

I barked, wanting him to come to me for once. I heard footsteps moving closer to me, so I walked forward to see if it was him. He kneeled down in front of me, patting my soft fur.

"Would you like to go on a walk?" He asked.

I barked excitedly, wanting to see the outside world from this point of view.

"Alright then, here let me hook on your leash."

He lifted my head hooking the leash onto my collar. I followed as he got up and walked to the front of the house. Opening the front door he walked outside, me following close after him.

We walked the streets for a bit when I noticed something. The location seemed oddly familiar..

It felt especially familiar when we turned to a new street that literally looked like mine.

I have to wake up! Then I can see if this is really my road cause they'll pass by. No Zak, this is just a dream, they arent actually passing by. Right..?

I decided to wake myself up to be sure. I saw a nearby tree in someone's yard, thinking it would be a good way to wake myself up I ran as fast as I could, slamming myself face first into the tree. I heard the guy shout from behind me, his footsteps getting louder as he ran through the grass. Letting my eyes close I felt myself drift away.

I awoke in my bed with a horrible headache.

"Oww..why'd the pain have to follow me out of my dream?"

I sat straight up when I heard someone's voice outside. That voice..it sounds familiar.

Walking to the front of the house past a sleeping Vincent I opened the front door. Looking to the direction of the sound I sware I almost passed away out from shock when I saw his face.

But..but that's the man in my dream! My owner as a dog! How-..how can he be here?!

Looking down to where he was looking I noticed a dog, small, white, and fluffy. It was just laying on the ground.

Oh god..I think I hurt that dog more than I thought I did...I guess I should probably say something.

"Um..hello," I said, not really knowing how else to start.

The man looked up quickly, "Oh- I'm sorry! You see, my dog here thought it would be a good idea to run face first into a tree."

"Oh, I see, do you need some help?"

"That would be nice, yes."

I walked over, kneeling down next to him. It felt a little weird to be honest. Looking down at my dog self and actually being another person next to him.

"So, what's wrong with him?" I asked.

"I'm not sure, he just wont wake up. I've been trying to shake him," he replied.

"Maybe he just knocked himself out. He did slam face first into a tree. That's got to have done some damage."

"Yeah, probably. I'm just worried for him."

"Of course, I'm sorry."

"Sorry? For what?" He asked, confused.

"Oh! I uh- for your dog, ya know..its unfortunate that that happened," I blurt out quickly, remembering that he doesn't know that I was controlling that dog.

"Oh, right. Well, I should probably go get him checked out to be sure," he said.

"Oh, okay then."

He stands up picking up the dog in his arms, "sorry about being in your yard and all."

I stand up as well, him still towering over me even as a human, "No worries, it's fine."

He turned to leave but I stop him and ask, "Wait-! What's your name?"

"Hm? Oh, I'm Darryl, you?"

"Zak."

"Nice to meet you, Zak."

"Do you..live near here?"

"Yeah, I live a couple streets up over on that direction," Darryl said pointing beyond the houses across from mine.

"Okay, well cya Darryl."

"Bye!" He said turning around and walking back down the way he came.

"You know him?" A voice suddenly speaks from behind me.

I jump slightly, spinning around to face my door. There Vincent was standing, leaning on the side of the doorframe.

"Yes- no- well..kind of?"

"Have you seen him before in your life?" Vincent said, making it more specific.

"Again, yes and no.."

"What? That doesn't make sense Zak, are you still tired or something?"

"No! Here, I'll explain," I walked after him inside.

Once inside we both sit down on the couch and I tell him what happened with my dream.

"Okay so, let me get this straight. Your owner in a dream you had as a dog, was just outside with his dog which you controlled for a period of time."

"Yes, not only that though. When I wanted to wake up I ran into a tree, and that's exactly what Darryl said his dog did!"

"What?! That doesn't make sense! How is that possible?"

"I dont know! All I know is that that guy, Darryl, was in my dream and I was his dog!" I exclaimed.

"Now that you just say it like that it kind of sounds messed up to be honest."

"Hey! I didn't choose to dream about that," I replied annoyed.

"Yeah well, whatever."

Vincent turned around and walked to his room. I walk to my room as well and start up my computer. I notice I have a new email so I open it up. It said that I was hired and could start work as soon as tomorrow! Guess I'm getting up early tomorrow.
