Envy made sure her mother spotted her. Noire was on Voldemort's left side, alongside his snake. Envy could clearly see her mother's stare was on her, her mother's once bright dark blue eyes were much darker with power and darkness. Envy was afraid. But she wasn't going to admit it.

Envy broke the stare on her mother and looked around, she then met a familiar pair of green eyes and she sucked in a sharp breath. He stood there, with his ginger hair neatly stacked behind his ear and a brunette stood close to him, clinging on him. Envy recognized her as Octavia.

"Envy? Are you okay?" Connor asked Envy and she glanced at him. She needed to remind herself who she truly loved, who she was fighting for, who she was willingly to die for.

"Promise me that if we win, we win together, if we loose, we loose together and if we die, we'll do that together as well." Her voice was soft but the pain and fear in it was evident.

"I promise my love." Connor said, smashing his lips against hers and Envy quickly kissed back. "I'll be with you every step of the way."

Envy smiled and she met Harry's eyes. He didn't need to talk to show how scared he was, or how broken he was. "We need to have a plan. If I go for Voldemort, who else is going for someone specific?"

"I'll go after the snake." Neville suggested as he bravely walked forward. "I never liked snakes anyway."

"Okay, Neville is going after the snake. Connor, how about you?" Harry asked Connor and Envy silently hoped he didn't choose anyone dangerous looking. She hoped he chose someone who she knew was on their own level of magic.

"I'm going after Draco." Connor replied and stared at the crowd. He could spot the platinum blonde anywhere.

"Envy? Any one in particular?" Envy looked into his green eyes and she saw so many emotions flash by at once. He was scared, angry, hurt, happy but mostly scared. Envy wanted to hold him, tell him it will be okay, tell him he shouldn't worry. She wanted to tell him that they would win this battle, that he shouldn't have any doubts. But she remained rooted where she stood.

"I'm going after my mom." Envy snarled. Harry looked at her as if to say, 'are you sure?' Envy then stared at the night sky and smiled when she noticed the bright stars. They reminded her of the first day with the Cranes, when Connor first seriously told her that he loved her and that she meant the world to him. She then remembered the night she went swimming with Harry, she remembered the feeling she felt when she took his glasses off to wipe them, she remembered the feeling she felt when she hugged Harry. That was enough for her to want to fight on. "I need to face her anyway sooner or later."

Harry smiled at her and faced his troops. "We may be walking to our own deaths if we walk out there, I don't want any of you to die for me." He glanced at Envy. "But like a very good and special friend of mine said, if we win, we'll win together, if we loose, we'll loose together and if we die, we'll do that together as well."

Saying Envy was the spitting image of her mother would be an understatement. They both had dark, inky hair, they both had long, slender fingers and they both had button noses. The only thing that set them apart was the colour of their eyes. Noire's was naturally bright but still dark. Envy's was an artic blue, so bright and had swirls of dark blue in them.

"You're still alive." Envy said as she and her mother stood about five feet apart. "How are you still alive? I mourned for you and I saw your lifeless body."

Envy had always admired her mother's elegance. She had always admired the way she spoke. She had always admired her mother. Noire meant everything to Envy, she still did. "I should be asking you the same thing, don't you think?"

"Just answer my question!" Envy snapped, pointing her wand towards her mother. Noire looked calm, it was as though she knew Envy would never dare lay a finger on her, it was as though she knew how much Envy still loved her.

"I never died my dear." She smiled and placed her pale hands behind her back. "You and you're father were so stupid. And I had to fulfill my duty to the Dark Lord. You and your father were just a distraction and I haven't regretted leaving you, even you were so young."

The words were heavy and felt like knives in Envy's brain as the truth finally settled in. After all these years of asking and asking, she found her answers, even though they weren't exactly what she had hoped for. But then she remembered the feeling she felt when she hugged Harry and the feeling she felt when Connor confessed his love to her and it fueled her.

Envy pointed her wand at her mother again, this time feeling as brave as a Gryffindor. "I thought you were the only true parent I had, turns out dad was better than you." The tears that were streaming down her face were evident but Envy didn't care. "I'm sorry mom. I still love you." Envy sniffed before muttering, "Avada Kedavra."
