Two Months Later
Trying to fall in love again is hard, it's like a constant clawing on my back as I try and fall for Bradley. The thought of Levi is constantly on my mind, and how he would feel if he saw I was with someone else.
Would he be hurt?
Would he be happy?
Would he kiss my cheek and tell me he loves me one last time?
No matter what it is, I just wish I could see him again.
Bradley's head laid on my chest as he slept quietly, while I sat there and ran my fingers through his hair. His head fell up and down with my breathing and in that moment, all I wanted to do was keep him safe from everything.
What if something to him like it did to Levi? I couldn't go on if something like that happened again. My breathing started to pick up and became harder with each breath. My panicked breathing then woke up Bradley.
"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked me with concern in his eyes.
I knew it was time I told him about my past and what's going on.
"I loved a guy before. His name was Levi. He had the cutest smile that I'd ever seen before,"
Bradley looked at me confused and upset
"We were in love. I had him for years of my life. Then, he was as diagnosed with brain cancer,"
He wrapped his hand in mine as I continued
"I knew we wouldn't have forever when I found out, but I prayed to a god that I don't believe in that he'd be okay, for me. The months went by way too fast and soon, he was gone forever,"
"Baby, why didn't you tell me before?" He asked, as I began to tear up.
"And now, I feel as if I'm cheating on him with you because he was taken from me so fast. But he wanted me to move on and yet I can't,"
I finished and fell into Bradley's arms and began to bawl my eyes out. He caressed my hair as I held onto him tightly.
"Thomas, it's okay. It must be so hard for you. I'm here for you and.." he began to stutter as I looked at him
"I-I love you, Thomas," He said with tears beginning to fall from his eyes
"I love you too, Bradley"
I slowly came back to my senses and went to get water from the kitchen. Bradley came in shortly, knowing his smile always makes me happy.
I grabbed him by his hand, and let him outside. I led him to a ladder on the side of the building.
"Follow me,"
Bradley climbed up after me to the top of the the apartment building. We got to the top and I held him by his waist. The night sky was clear and all the stars were visible.
We stood there, holding each other close as the stars laid on top of the trees.
I saw someone standing on the other side of the roof and got nervous very quickly.
Levi?
Was that Levi?
I started to yell his name but, as I started to say the letter L, he vanished.
Am I crazy for what I just saw?
