We finally made it back to the hotel after barley escaping the paparazzi. Colby was still very tense. He hadn't spoken to me the entire way back to our room.

"Colby, what the fuck is going on with you?" I asked with an annoyed tone.

"Me? What's going on with me?" He started complaining but was soon cut off by a knock at the door.

We looked at each other confused. I went open the door, but I regretted doing so right away. I looked at Colby who had his fists bawled up and jaw clenched. I saw anger and hurt in his eyes.

"What the fuck are you doing here, Kane?!" I asked, rolling my eyes annoyed.

"I came to apologize for my actions." I nodded, signaling him to continue. "I shouldn't have just left you at the coffee shop, I should have been more mature about everything. So, I am truly sorry, Desiree."

I thought for a second. "OK, I forgive you." He smiled. "Buuuut, this doesn't mean we are getting back together. That little on-stage stunt tonight was not OK. Yes, it was very sweet and I appreciated the songs, but I like someone else now."

He nodded and I gave him a hug before he left. I shut and locked the door behind him, turning around to look at Colby. He was more calm and less tense. 'Ugh, men give me a headache.' I thought.

"I'm so exhausted." I groaned.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight. However, it's nothing compared to your natural beauty." Colby said as he pulled me closer, his hands on my lower back and my hands on his shoulders.

I shook my head at him then looked up showing a big smile on my face and my rosy cheeks. "You're so cheesy and cliche, but I like it." I said honestly.

He leaned forward, I did as well and our lips grazed each other as we embraced. When our lips touched, an explosion of butterflies shook my body. Every time we kiss, I never want it to stop but unfortunately we have to breathe. I smiled into the kiss. He detached our lips and looked into my eyes as though he was trying to find some sort of answer. Then he smiled, looking like he had found it.

"I wanna take you on another date when we get back." He looked hopeful.

"Oh yeah?" I asked, smiling.

"Yes." He answered, a bit more bold.

"Hmmm..." I rubbed my chin with my hands like in the movies with my thinking expression on.

"Dez?" He said impatiently.

I giggled. "I'd like that." He smile and kissed me. With the kiss he showed he was happy with my answer.

~~~~on the plane home~~~~
I leaned my head against the windowsill of the plane. I've always loved the view from a plane. At times, I wonder what I'd be doing if I wasn't a celebrity. I didn't realize I had fallen asleep until I heard Colby's voice interrupting my dream. I jolted up.
"Whoa, Dez! You OK?" He asked, concern in his voice.
"Yeah, yeah. You just startled me." I assured him. He nodded.
We were waiting for our Uber when Kevin texted me that he was at my place with a surprise. I showed Colby and he nodded.
*cough* * louder cough*
"You OK there, Dez?" Colby asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's nothing." I lied. Lately my throat had been hurting a lot but it was probably just a cold. Nothing to worry about.
We finally got back to my place. Colby grabbed our suitcases out of the trunk.
"I can take mine." I said.
"No, it's fine. I got them." He told me.
"Colby, please let me help." I tried convincing him.
"Nope." He stood his ground.
I sighed. "Fine, don't complain that I didn't offer."
He laughed and we walked towards my door. I opened it but when I walked in there was decorations. Balloons, streamers, you name it. "Hello! Is anyone here?!" I called out.
"SURPRISE!" Everyone shouted.
Everyone was there. My friends, my family. I started crying.
"Oh no, don't cry." Kat ran over to me.
I smiled. "These are happy tears. What is all this for? My birthday isn't until next month." I asked
"We all had a get-together at Sam's place and watched the award show." Kevin told me.
"Well, only until you got off the stage with your award." Sam admitted.
"You guys are amazing! I love all of you so very, very much." I said with a grin.
"Wait till you see what's in the kitchen, sweetheart." My mom winked at me, gently grabbing my hand and pulling me to the kitchen.
"Oh my goodness! Guys, you didn't." I gasped in shock.
They had made all my favorite dishes. From homemade Mac n Cheese, to the small things like mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce.
"Alright, let's get this party started!" Mike and Aryia shouted.
"Ugh, boys." I chuckled.
We turned up the music and danced till our feet couldn't take it.
I got up on the little stage they had created and grabbed the mic.
"Hello, friends and family! I would like to say something. This week has been the best week any girl like me could have ever dreamed of. I won my first award. I have the most amazing people in my life that I really am so grateful for. So, I would like to play a song for you. It's a slow one, but I've been working on it for my second album." I grabbed my guitar from Colby, smiled at him and kissed his cheek.(Video up above)
Hey homecoming queen
Why do you lie
When somebody's mean?
Where do you hide?
Do people assume
You're always alright?
Beensogood at smiling
Mostof your life
Look damn good inthe dress
Zipping up the mess
Dancing with your best foot forward
Does it get hard
To have to play the part?
Nobody's feeling sorry for ya
But what if I told you the world wouldn't end
If you started showing what's under your skin
What if you let 'em all in on the lie?
Even the homecoming queen cries
Hey homecoming queen
How's things at home?
Still walking on eggshells
When that curtain's closed
Did your daddy teach you
How to act tough?
Or more like your momma?
Sweep it under the rug
Look damn good in the dress
Zipping up the mess
Dancing with your best foot forward
Did you want the crown
Or does it weigh you down
Nobody's feeling sorry for ya
What if I told you the world wouldn't end
If you started showing what's under your skin?
What if you let 'em all in on the lie?
Even the homecoming queen cries
Yeah, what if I told you the sky wouldn't fall?
If you lost your composure, said to hell with it all
Not everything pretty sparkles and shines
And even the homecoming queen cries
Oh yeah
Even the homecoming queen cries
Hey homecoming queen
Why do you lie?
When somebody's mean
Where do you hide?
After I stopped strumming I looked up and smiled. Every one started clapping and that very moment I hoped and wished nothing would change.
