*Alex's POV*
It had been possibly the most intense moment of my life. My heart had raced, my breathing became heavy and lustrous thoughts ran through my mind. You'd think someone so perfect would have to have some fault! Well if Nate had, kissing certainly wasn't one of them! He had actually kissed me! Not a peck, but a full-on knee-buckling, life-altering kiss. I just... there were no words.
But then the sudden pang of loss hit me. Here I was, hours later sitting in my room alone, with nothing but the memory of our encounter. Annie had left shortly after the boys returned; well, once I'd filled her in of course. All she'd done was jump up and down frantically, clapping her hands like some sort of retarded seal. She had rambled on for a while, but it all fell on deaf ears. I couldn't concentrate. I was in a world of my own, a world filled with thoughts of only one person, the one who had turned my world on its head just mere hours before. I was sure he'd known how he made me feel, I hoped I did the same for him. I mean, it had felt that way. I had heard him moan when I kissed him, I had felt his heart-rate speed up at my touch and he had been left breathless just as I had. I hoped I was right, that those fireworks that flamed between us weren't just in my head.
My mind drifted back to those moments after our kiss.
"That was..." he trailed off.
"Yeah..." I had replied, more than a little dazed. My cheeks heated in embarrassment and I quickly directed my gaze to the floor.
Putting his index finger below my chin ever so gently, he tilted my head back and kissed both my rosy cheeks. "You're cute when you blush", he smiled, "don't hide it."
I blushed again at the memory. I had thought he might kiss me again after that, hoped he would, and for a moment it had seemed like he might, but we were interrupted, much to my disappointment.
"Dude, what's keeping you?"
One line was all it took to ruin our perfect moment. He sighed, kissing my forehead for a second, before starting off towards the kitchen. For a moment I had stood there in silence, shocked by what had just happened, shocked that he had just left. Eventually, Annie's call pulled me out of my trance and I had gone to join the others in the kitchen.
The boys hung out around the house all day doing usual boy stuff: eating, playing video games, eating some more, but as soon as Annie left I took off up to my room out of frustration. He had pretended as though nothing happened! Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect him to act any different, especially in the presence of Trent. I, of all people knew how Trent could be. However, it still really got to me. As soon as I reached my bedroom, I slammed the door and launched myself onto the bed. I lay there for god knows how long, gazing up at the ceiling, reliving that moment of sheer perfection over and over in my head. I couldn't help the appreciative moan that escaped my lips as I remembered the feel of his hands running up and down my body as he pulled me impossibly closer to him. It was like nothing I had ever experienced and I wanted so badly to be subjected to it again.
A rap on the door interrupted my reverie, causing me to shoot up in alarm. I glanced at the clock on my bedside table; it was just after midnight. Who would be knocking on my door at this time of night? My question was shortly answered as the door opened to reveal the one person I had been longing to see.
