It was mid-afternoon two days later when the sleigh touched the ground next to the stables and the elves got off, waving the crowd that welcomed them. Jungkook was surprised that he could see neither Yoongi nor Jimin anywhere near and a bit of disappointment mixed with his excitement to return home. Before he knew it, Taehyung had walked past him without a word to release the deer from the harnesses that made them pull the sleigh. Namjoon and Seokjin were greeted by all the other elves and thanked them while making their way towards Hoseok who then guided them inside. Now, Jungkook was all alone. Of course, there were still a lot of people and a group circled around him, asking questions about their trip, but they weren't who he considered friends and he was confused that as soon as they had arrived, the others had left him alone.
And why wasn't Yoongi there to greet him?
He tried putting on a smile and then excused himself from his – how his Hyung liked to call them – "fan-club", running towards the factory-building.
Where could they be?
He was walking through the hallways, his mind wandering off a little, when suddenly he heard – far in the distance, but still audible – the sound of a piano playing. Enchanted by the notes and melody, he followed his ear to listen to it more and also because he wanted to know who was playing. He had never heard anything this beautiful and moving. It was like the melody was speaking to him directly, but at the same time, he couldn't understand what it was about.

He arrived at the hall that led to the salon, the only room that contained a piano in the entire factory, and he was about to enter, when a soft voice, clear as a bell and at the same time warm and comforting joined the piano and Jungkook froze in his movement. This was Jimin's voice that he heard, and it sounded even more beautiful than when he was speaking. He had had no idea this guy was able to sing, was there anything he couldn't do? Wait, then who was the one playing the piano? It couldn't be Namjoon, he'd be in his office or private-room by now.
Honestly, Jungkook didn't want to imagine, what Seokjin and he would be doing by now since they hadn't really been given any privacy lately and the tension between them had been spread all over their trip. It was really no secret that they were crazy about each other and he hoped that everything worked out for them. When this thought was running through his mind, at once, everything clicked to place and he smiled to himself in realization.
"Yoongi-hyung!", he whispered to himself and closed his eyes to listen to the song a little more. Yes, there was no one else that could make Jimin sing this emotional. He hadn't known that the blonde elf was so talented at the piano, but thinking about it for a moment, it made so much sense to him. Yoongi was such a complex character and he sure was the only one that Jungkook knew who was capable of composing such a nerve-wracking and goose-bump-causing piece of art. The black-haired slowly turned around and started walking away. Even though huge parts of him wanted to stay and listen to the music, he wanted to give them their privacy and now that he knew where they were, he wasn't all that worried anymore and actually glad, that they hadn't interrupted their music session just because he returned from spreading the gifts for Christmas.

He spent the rest of the day on his own, finding some hours of sleep in his comfortable and much-missed bed, reading some stuff about all the places he'd been to in the last days and thinking about what he was going to do on his holiday this year.
When it was dinner time, he left his room and started wandering through the hallway, down the stairs and straight towards the common-area where the cafeteria had opened already. Elves were running all over the place, no longer in their pointed hats and uniform, but in their free-time-clothes since now, the time of the year had passed that they had to work on the most. In the next weeks, for some even months, they would be allowed to relax and leave the factory for trips even though it was rare that any ever left for a really long time.
Still, it was a nice atmosphere, now that no one was stressed about a deadline anymore and everyone was friendly and excited about the end of the year. Also, as was a tradition in the factory, tonight was the ... feast in honour of Santa Clause, but all his helpers as well, that Christmas had passed perfectly this year, just like all the years before.
