Oct 31st

"You look hot y/n!"
Emily gasped at your costume.

"Stop it"
You laughed.

The year seemed to be flying by so quickly. It was already Halloween.

You were going out tonight.
Emily and Chris were taking you out for some fun.

You can never be too old for Halloween after all.

Emily and Chris were dressed up 𝐵𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑙𝑦𝑑𝑒. A still seemingly popular pair to dress as.

You were going as 𝐿𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝑅𝑒𝑑 𝑅𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐻𝑜𝑜𝑑. And a pretty fine looking one at that.

"I'm so excited. I haven't done this in so long"
You danced along the room.

"Same. I didn't think we went last year?"
Emily looked over at Chris.

He shook his head.
"Nope, we didn't"

"Well hopefully we don't get too much crap from people"
You laughed.

"It's not really like we're 'trick or treating.' We'll be too tired after the Halloween party anyway!"
Emily nudged your shoulder.

-

You were having so much fun with Emily and her boyfriend at this party.
It made you wish that Corbin could have been there with you.

He had a business meeting in Georgia.

He and yourself did different things at your job, so you didn't have this same conference to go to.

You had already been without him for two days.
Only three more until he would be back home.

"Y'all we should do this again ne-"

"Y/n..?"
Emily interrupted you mid sentence.

"Yeah?"

"I think someone wants to talk to you.."

You turned your head in the direction she was looking, to see a familiar smiling face headed your way.

𝑂ℎ 𝑔𝑜𝑑
You thought to yourself.
There was no time to duck away and hide now. He was nearly to you.

"I think we should go"
Emily whispered fo Chris.

"Don't you dare"
You warned her.

"Hey y/n"
He spoke.

You shut your eyes right before slowly turning around to him.

"Long time no see"
You spoke lowly.

"What? Oh. Yeah I know.. I tried to call you like a week ago"
He added.

Confusion struck you until you remembered.
"Oh I wouldn't have gotten it. I changed my number last month"

He nodded slowly, looking over your body.

"You look good"
He smiled comfortingly.

"Thanks. What are you ? A zombie?"
You asked.

"Yeah.. kinda poorly done but it'll pass. No one can see that well in here anyway"

"I'm sure they can.. you spotted me out of everyone"

"We'll be right back. Good to see you Mingi"
Emily said.

"Same to you"
Mingi returned.

Emily then grabbed Chris by the hand and pulled him away.

"May I?"
He asked, motioning to the seat next to you.

You nodded.

You sat awkwardly, trying to think of something to say to break the silence.

He sat quietly also.
Neither of you had ever had trouble starting a conversation in the past.
Clearly it had been way too long since the two of you talked.

"How have you been anyway?"
He asked, releasing you of the pressure to come up with something.

"I've been good.. how about you?"

"Same same"
He looked at you for a moment, trying to read your facial expressions.

"I miss you though. I haven't seen you in forever"

It did feel like forever.
Ever since that day that you had told him that you needed your space, you haven't had any contact with him whatsoever.

In the beginning he tried to text you. There were a lot of apologies.

You hadn't responded to any of his texts.
That being said, fairly quickly he had gotten the point and stopped messaging you.

"It's been awhile.."
You agreed.

"Well what have you been up to?"

"Just regular life things"

"Oh I get it.. you still don't wanna talk to me?"
He asked sadly.

"Well you look beautiful.."

"To answer your first question. Whenever I'm not out with my boyfriend, I'm at work"

He sat silent for a moment.

"Boyfriend huh"
He spoke.

"Yes"

"What's his name?"

"Corbin"
You said.

He frowned a little.
"Well that's cool"

"I think im gonna go find Emily and Chris.."
You stood up.

"I'm not like I was before y/n. I was a bad friend.. I know that."

He stood up next to you, pulling his phone out of his pocket.

"Would it be okay to have your new number? Just to keep in touch"

You looked down at his phone, not sure what to do.

"What do you mean you're not the same"

"I mean that, I don't really hang out with the guys anymore.. Jason and I had a fight awhile ago. It was pretty bad actually"
He fiddled with his phone.

"I'm sorry that happened"

"It's okay. I'm glad it did. It showed me what it was like.. you think you're friends with someone, when in reality.. you're not"

You nodded.
"One sided right?

"Right"
He added once more.

"So.. May I have your new number? I'm not gonna text you all the time."

"I don't think my boyfriend would be too happy"

"You can tell him I'm an old friend from when we were young"

"He already knows who you are Mingi"
You stated.

"Ah.. he probably thinks I'm a complete asshole from what I'm sure you've told him about me"

"He knows that we had an issue yes.. He also knows that I still care about you"
You took his phone and added your contact.

"It was good to see you Min"
You smiled and walked away.
