THE NGESF
The cries of a baby are heard throughout a scientific lab, as a dishevelled midnight black haired woman lay on a flat experimental bed, panting, with tears rolling down her cheeks. She knew what was to come, and yet she hoped, she wished for it to not. She didn't want to live a life as unfulfilling as this, neither did she want her baby to either... To do that; to subject her baby to a life of experiments until they get it perfect is not a life she wished for her baby, she didn't, couldn't. She shut her eyes tightly as a syringe comes in contact with her skin and that of her baby's as well. She couldn't watch... to be stuck here without even remembering who her child was and yet taking care of her/him was going to be pure torture...Aiko, Iris Aiko... the woman said as her eyelids fluttered shut, extreme fatigue taking over her body as it seems her internal systems shut down... she went through every image she had been and seen these past few months, relieving the torture she was constantly put through on a daily basis... her hand, slowly, with much effort, stretches to touch the smooth skin of her child's, their multicoloured eyes opening wide at the touch as if they could sense that their mother was near,
Please give me one last wish... name them Iris... Iris Aiko... the tired mother's hand slowly fell to her side as she felt the darkness pull her closer, and took her with wide open arms...
The baby, whose eyes were slowly getting droopy, suddenly snapped open as they felt a painful pinch on their neck and skull and started to cry... loudly. However, the scientists paid the child no mind and continued to push the colourful looking contents into the baby's neck and head and slowly, they saw the effects of the drug... the tips of the newborn baby's small amount of hair was changing colour from silky blue black to a light purple.
The baby finally quietens down after a few minutes of squirming and crying loudly to a few sniffles here or there. The scientist in charge of injecting the serum into the baby then lay the baby down softly on a scientifically made crib; after all this might be the best project yet and they don't want anything to spoil their best experiment yet.
