"Miss Swan," Regina said as she strutted into the Sheriffs office.
"Yes mayor Mills," the blonde answered without looking up from her work.
Regina staggered back, still not used to the name change even after a month of their separation.
"I have a new case for you," she finally responded.
Emma continued typing out something's on her laptop, "Kathryn Nolan is missing. Her car was found crashed and abandoned at the town line. I already have my deputy out searching for leads with David & Mary Margaret helping out. I will be joining them shortly after I'm done with these reports."
Regina was stunned yet again. Usually she was always the first to inform the mayor on all things dealing with the town.
"Is there something else I can help you with mayor Mills or are you just gonna stand there?" The blonde said now facing the brunette.
The mayor gave a small smile and bowed her head ever so slightly, "Uh- no. Sorry to have bothered you Sheriff Swan."
Something clattered to the floor behind them causing the two ex lovers to look back. There was Mary Margaret standing awkwardly at the entrance of the Sheriff's office, having just picked up her phone.
"Heeeyyy," she said nervously, "Just coming to update you on the search. Didn't mean to intrude."
Emma smiled at her roommate, "No intrusion. The mayor was just leaving."
Regina rolled her eyes, "You know this sassy thing you got going on doesn't fit you Miss Swan and Ms. Blanchard it's rude to eavesdrop."
"I wasn't trying to-" Mary Margaret started before she was interrupted.
"Mary Margaret and I can do whatever we so please. Please leave my office," Emma interjected.
"No first we need to discuss this deputy thing. I never signed off on any deputy request," Regina said as she reverted back to her old self.
"I don't need your approval," Emma seethed, "I have my own budget and theres room for a deputy. She's doing a fine job and looks good doing it. "
Regina was now an ever increasing ball of hot jealously, "And who is this deputy?"
Mary Margaret turned slowly, "Maybe I should g-"
"No!"
"Go!"Emma and Regina both yelled at the grade school teacher.
"Mary Margaret please, stay. I just finished up my reports and we can join David and Deputy Lucas in the search," Emma explained.
"Lucas? As in Ruby Lucas? What qualifies her as a deputy," she sassed.
Emma rolled her eyes, "Not that you need to know but for starters she's a great tracker. Plus she's easy on the eyes."
Regina taken aback at the statement causing Emma to smirk.
"Well than if you really think she's got what it takes I'll leave you to it," Regina huffed as she started to exit.
"Don't let the door hit you on your way out," Emma shouted from inside as Regina was on her way out.
The mayor scoffed as she brushed past Mary Margaret left the two alone.
Mary Margaret turned to Emma and gave her a look.
"What?" The blonde pouted.
"pLuS sHe'S eAsY oN tHe EyEs. I don't like her either, but you didn't have to do her like that," the teacher pointed out.
"Well I had to do something. You see how jealous she got. She needs to know I've moved on," the blonde responded.
Mary Margaret put her hand on her hip, "But you haven't. You don't even like Ruby!"
Emma threw her hands in the air, "Yeah, but she doesn't need to know that! I mean don't get me wrong Ruby's beautiful but she's no Regina."
Mary Margaret chuckled as she pulled up a chair next to Emma, "Maybe you should be trying get her back instead of making her think you've moved on."
"No, no. I'm fine. She broke up with me. She wanted this. She's happy. And who am I to get in the way of someone's happiness," the sheriff stated.
"Seems to ke she was more jealous than uh happy," Mary Marget input.
Emma laughed, "Why are you even trying to get us back together? You don't even like her?"
"Yeah, you're not wrong. She can be a real witch sometimes but I do know you were happy with her and I like when my friends are happy," Miss Blanchard said as she elbowed Emma playfully.
Emma smiled, "And I like when you're happy too, which is why I am in no rush to find Kathryn. I mean if she's gone you can finally be with David."
"Emma," Mary Margaret laughed, "Don't joke like that."
"Fine," the blonde huffed, "Let's go find your boy toys wife."
"Wow that really does make our situation sound terrible doesn't it," the raven haired woman said as they both stood up.
Emma shrugged, "This whole town is a little off I think you're fine."
"We are not off we are quaint. There is a difference," the teacher said matter of factly as they exited the station.
"Yeah, ok," Emma said with a laugh as she shut the door.
