Confession time

His voice trailed.
"Never mind"
Gage cocked his head.
"What"
'breathe in, breathe out'
"Do you know what day it is, Gage"
He thought.
"October 10th. Why"
Wyatt smiled and looked at him, his eyes burning with anticipation.
"Gage nine years ago today you and I met. And I will never forget that, nine years ago we became friends, nine years ago I met the person who changed my life for the better"
Gage felt warm tears well, he had completely forgotten.
"What, Wyatt what are you saying"
Wyatt sat down he placed the book down on the seat to left of him and patted the one to the right.
"You might want to sit down"
He obeyed.
"Gage I already mentioned that we met nine years ago-"
"Yes many times"
"Aha anyway, the day I met you I thought you of nothing but a pest, a pest that would repeatedly shank me in my ribs with a knife. But that distaste slowly turned to jealousy"
"My what a reassuring statement. Wyatt"
"Stop sassing. My desire to be better than you often clouded my judgement and I felt that I needed to be the best at everything, to prove that I was better. Everyday of my life I wanted to be the best, all because I wanted what you had mountains of... love, everyone you met instantly loved you and I was left feeling alone... I wanted that feeling the aura that oozes from you I wanted. My way of getting though was to be a narcissistic asshole who cared for nothing but himself"
Gage put a hand on his leg, wyatt felt his cheeks grow warm.
"Wyatt, you never have to prove me anything. You have plenty of people who love you from the deepest darkest parts of their souls and they, I would do anything for you"
Wyatt laughed a bit.
"Thanks"
Gage smiled.
"Continue"
So he did.
"It wasn't until you put yourself infront of that jerk ass highschooler when he pushed me off the play structure did I realize that you cared for me way more then what I deserved. My actions turned from trying to be better than you to trying to prove that I could be a better person, though my competitive spirit got me into some trouble. I admired you, you're a kind, generous, loyal and honest person. I wanted to be like that"
Gage was on the verge of tears.
"Wyatt why are you telling me all this. Why is it important that I know this stuff"
Wyatt wiped away a few tears that slipped through. He cupped Gage's face in his hands and smiled.
"I'm telling you all of this because you're really important to me, Gage I realized at the age of eleven that my strong desire to show off was because I..."
His voice trailed again this time longer. Gage just stared.
"Wyatt, please just spit it out"
'breathe in, breathe out'
"Gage, I have for close to four years have been..."
He whipped forward, releasing Gage in the process.
"Aagh why is this so hard to say, it shouldn't be that hard to say 'I love you' should it"
He turned to his friend awaiting an answer, Gage's large diamond blue eyes were almost shining as he stared tears were forming.
"You... you do"
...
"What"
...
Gage snorted.
...
oh.
Oh.
Oh!
OH!
OH NO!
Wyatt's eye's widened to plate size when the realization hit.
He flopped his head into his hands and groaned.
Gage started laughing.
"No. No no no no no. I'm sorry that's not how I wanted that to come out"
Gage placed a hand on his shoulder still laughing.
"No, no it's okay. It was cute"
The stunt man looked up from his palms and grinned.
"Really"
"Yep, really" he smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. The smile faded.
"Ugh okay my turn"
He composed himself and began talking.
"Okay so remember how, Debbie and I uh broke up"
He nodded.
"Well you're gonna call me crazy but shortly after that my heart began to yearn for another and I was shattered because I was having problems with my feelings and trusting my heart with someone else made me feel... unsafe and vulnerable I didn't want it broke again I was scared. So when I started getting these pulsating waves of warm and fuzzy whenever I was near that person I would mentally panic, I don't want to give my heart away, not after what happened last time"
Wyatt felt a pain in his chest.
"If this a very long depressing way of turning me down then I will be very upset... but impressed. 10 points for manipulating the heart there"
Gage didn't look happy. He had tears running down his face.
"No Wyatt it's not that, I was scared to love you back"
...
Wait.
"Aw c'mon why was it so easy for you to say. Holy fucking bloody hell"
The boy in green laughed, he put a hand on Wyatt's shoulder and bit back another chuckle.
"Because I've done it before, it's like a bandaid just rip it off. Better out than in"
Wyatt wiped some more tears from his friend's face and smiled.
"Tell Brandon that"
More laughing.
"Hey don't go wise cracking our friend now"
The stunt man waved a hand at him, showing no interest in listening.
"Ay, he's cracked at me about my thing for you loads. Think I deserve a little payback"
Gage merely shrugged, his mouth curling into a smile. He reached over Wyatt's lap and grabbed the book. He opened it.
Inside the cover was a small pink and purple pen. He picked it up.
Flipping through a few pages he landed on the last written page.
He read the names.
lenny and Charlotte
bill and mary
Charity and Lester
"Hey Lester and Charity are in here"
"Cool"
He looked at Wyatt a large smile upon hi lips.
He handed him the pen.
"Gage, wha-" Gage cut him off.
"Do you want to"
...
He nodded and grabbed the book.
He used the pen and wrote his name in. Gage did the same... right beside his.
Wyatt and Gage♡
They both looked at it, to Wyatt it felt like a dream. This is the only thing he wanted. Gage was calm, he put his head on Wyatt's shoulder.
"Seems fitting doesn't it"
His eyes never left the page.
"What"
"We met nine years ago, we became friends nine years ago. Now everytime it hits October 10th it'll be our anniversary of courtship"
The southerner shook his head.
"To many big words, english please"
A giggle.
"It'll be our anniversary of when we started dating asshat"
His head snapped up.
Dating. He wasn't...
"Really"
"Wyatt I wouldn't have signed that book if I didn't mean it"
He looked at the older boy, his eyes were half lidded and he wore a sweet smile.
Wyatt closed the book and put it aside.
Gage put his hands on his chest.
Wyatt grabbed his waist.
They closed the gap.
They liked it.
