Jack Frost
____________
Willow retreated back to her tent, bidding us good night. Rapunzel smiles at her as she stands and disappears back onto her tent, then she buries her face in her hands. Her hair falls into place, draping in like a curtain of gold.
I grab her hands and bring them up so she's forced to look at me. Her face is distressed, softly worried and scared. Fear. I pull her closer and entangle her arms around my neck, bringing our faces closer. "Why are you crying?"
"If... if Pitch finds out before you have a chance to get to him... I-, you'll...." She pulls away as well as looking away too. I can't see her face, but her shoulders twitch upwards, like she's crying. And faintly, she whispers, "I can't loose you."
"Hey," I say back, my voice hoarse and whisky. "Rapunzel, look at me."
I don't want her to feel this way. She shouldn't. I don't want her to worry about me, I should worry about her. I grab her shoulder and her body shifts. Her green eyes are lined with clear tears. She sniffles, the rims of her eyes turn red. I feel so guilty because I'm the cause of these tears. "You don't have to worry about me, Punz. I'll be fine."
"But w-what if you're not?" She cries back. Her bottom lip quivers as she stares up at me like an angel. Her eyes dart from each one of my own, trying to find some sort of failure. I don't give her any.
"I'll be fine," I repeat. My hand finds its way to her cheek and my thumb starts to caress her smooth skin. Her body stops trembling slightly and it seems that I'm going to calm her down, but then she tenses up again.
"I can't let you get hurt," She whimpers.
"I promise I won't get hurt," I reply. "And when I promise something, I never break my promise, ever."
She laughs softly at me. With her tears, it sounds like little gasps of breath. Then, she leans into me, her chest resting against my shoulder. Her body is so cold, so I embrace her in my arms. I don't know if she's warmer or colder. Her eyes flutter to a close, her hand grasps my hoodie. Rapunzel's breathing becomes steady and I know she's asleep. I lean against an ice wall I make and close my eyes as well.
My dreams are plagued by nightmares.

Pitch Black
_______________
"What's this?" I ask, digging my nails into the arms of my throne. I glare at the servant before me when really all I want to do is jump up and run to the door. The man shakes and whimpers, fear edged into his timeless grey eyes.
"W-will-willow i-is req-requesting yo-your pres-sence, Your M-Majesty."
If Willow is back, that means Rapunzel is here as well. I keep myself from breaking into a huge grin and scowl even more, "Well let her in, you bloody git!" I roar with anger. He violently nods his head and runs to the door. I relax in my seat, trying to fixate my face to show my boredom. I mustn't show my true emotions when Rapunzel is here. I can't let her know how much I've missed my daughter.
Not your daughter.
The doors reopen and in struts Willow. Her brown hair is braided down her back, her brown boots clicking against the tile floors. She looks proud and confident, exactly how I'd imagine she'd look. Then trailing behind her came Rapunzel, her face smudged with dirt and muck. Her bare feet slap against the floors, echoing around the room. After she, came her long hair, the end not in my view.
The brunette beams at me after she habowatsts. She extends her arms as if presenting a prize, "May I present Rapunzel, alive and well. And, the prat named Jack Frost is dead."
Dead. It sounded all to well for those words to be in that sentence. I smile at the warrior and incline my head towards her. "Very good, my dear Willow. You may take as many riches as you want for you and your brother. A house will be provided for you in Anoroc. Thank you."
Willow bows elegantly again, not much like a lady at all. Her braid flicks behind her as she spins around and walks past Rapunzel, who anxiously stares after her. When the doors close, Rapunzel slowly shifts towards me. The way she looks at me should've angered me, but it only struck sadness into my heart. I firmly stand up, clenching my fists at my side. Rapunzel barely flinchs. She stands her ground, staring me straight into my eyes.
"Hello Rapunzel," I say softly. I start to walk down to her when she didn't give any answer at all. She looks nervous, not about me. She keeps looking at the windows, then darts her eyes towards my presence. They were slightly darker, the way the green darkened when she looks at me. I can't tell if she is bad or angry or just scared.
"Hello...," She says in a low voice. Her arms roll upwards, her neck extending out and then back. I could tell she was uncomfortable, so I snap my fingers at my guards and demand her cuffs to be taken off. Once off, she rubs her wrists while looking suspiciously at me. "Why am I here?"
"Y-you're home, dear," I reply, stricken with sadness. Of course she doesn't want to be here. Why would she? I'm a monster in her eyes. She just wants me gone. I force my smile to stay as I take another step toward her. Her scoff stops me.
"You think I want to be here? 'Home?' I'm not home!" She yells, her small hands balling into tight fists. "I never want to be here again! You tried to kill me." I can see her start to tear up, and she wipes them away with her palms. Rapunzel shifts her body away from me as she glares at me. And then, from the corner, I see Amelia poke her head into the room. She walks in, past Rapunzel, and bows her head. Rapunzel's eyes settle on her, watching this woman's moves.
"Pitch, sir," Amelia says softly to me.
"I have something to say."
Gulping, I nod my head for her to continue. She glances up at me then stands up straight. She turns around to Rapunzel, who looks more confused than ever. Amelia reaches her hand out, then stops herself. Her hands falls to her side.
"Rapunzel, I want you to know something," I say quickly. I close my eyes, knowing that I'll regret these words forever. "This woman is your mother."
